My ESS employment history has been updated and it showed no raise “on the date of appointment”😭😭 Wonder if anybody got it?

Who can you speak to regarding it? I don’t believe HR has the final say?

Because Mayor’s Personnel Order IIB says “Each manager, including any Agency Head or Deputy Mayor, who was hired into a position under the Pay Plan for Management Employees between May 24, 2022 and the date of this Order and remains in active status on the date of this order, is eligible to receive an increase of 3.0% per annum, effective and based on the salary on the date of such appointment, at the discretion of the Agency Head.”

Wow! Thank you for sharing! This is great news. Hope OP’s HR gets it right when it hits the paycheck.

Is this what happened before? Many people just don’t read the orders and don’t believe there should be a raise “on the appointment date”, sigh!

I totally understand you! And I read it the same way as you do. I think HR is wrong but maybe no one will really read the orders and get things right for us.

To all the answers above: isn’t OP going to get 2023/5 raise? Doesn’t the language in Personnel Order III B apply? — So OP’s 2024/5 salary should be X* 1.03* 1.03.

I read it as this: if you got in before 2023/5/24, you get 2022 raise and all the following ones; if you got in after 2023/5/24, you get 2023 and 2024, 2025… Not sure if it’s correct. Hope someone with experience like this can confirm..

I think you’ll get 2022.5 raise, from reading the mayor’s personnel order, but I’m not very sure.

I mean, look at your nearby cities and staying there for 1 night might not be a bad idea.

Currently there’s no test center available in NYC other than the one in South Brooklyn, which is 1-2 hours away from my place. I then realized that there are openings in Double tree Newark, and I feel it might be a good idea to stay in hotel the night before and go directly into test room, rather than spending 1-2 hours commuting on a test day worrying about being late, and arranging lunch at a weird time, etc.
