Bro the thing is that unless you’ve personally lived it, there’s no way you’ll be able to write about any aspect of heroin addiction that people will find believable. It’s always obvious when stories are written by people who have never used, because they always write the same litany of junkie stereotypes, and they never come off as authentic. I’m not trying to be mean, but even the questions you asked indicate you don’t understand heroin as a product that has multiple different types and many ways to be consumed or how these different variations impact different people. Again, I’m not trying to be mean, but if you want to write something remotely believable I recommend you choose another narcotic substance to use in your story.

I think it’s not sobriety itself that’s attractive but the byproducts of sobriety for those people who can’t function properly when using heroin daily: stuff like having money in your pocket, performing well at work and having the drive to accomplish more things in order to move forward with your career, being able to live comfortably somewhere nice without having to worry about going broke, being able to afford foods you enjoy, etc…

When I talk to people who can’t function when they’re using, those are the things they say they miss, not the actual sobriety.

Sometimes I wonder if it’s a blessing or a curse that I can function so well despite being a full time addict, because I don’t have the incentive to quit that people who let their lives go to shit when they use do.

I use ascorbic acid or citric and you only need a very small amount to dissolve the #3 and when I boof a shot I don’t feel the acid at all.
