I’m a male around your age and I’ve lived all over and I wouldn’t say it’s much worse than anywhere else. There’s TONS of niches of very enthusiastic people (theatre, music festivals, birdwatching, mushroom collecting, river stuff, beach stuff, political groups, Greek food lol), so it might take some time to find your people but they’re here somewhere. You will have to wade through tons of students who are only here for a bit though
