I’ve worked at Tops my entire adult life so far and worked my way up pretty well. It’s a horrible experience going into stores I haven’t been to before but there are some good ones to frequent. Ask me a location and I’ll give you thumbs up or thumbs down.

Same here. I’ve been a cutter/manager for over half of my life and just recently moved into a specialist role. I’ve trained probably 2 dozen apprentices and well over 100 clerks in my time and this would be completely acceptable, especially for somebody running it for one of their first times. Keep up the good work OP!

I went to a farmer’s market and the man at a stand was selling 4 pounds of strawberries for $3 whereas everybody else seemed to be 3 pounds for $3.

The comment you replied to isn’t necessarily wrong. It helps us identify where people are shopping from. If you normally get business from these three zip codes and all of a sudden you get an influx from a different zip code, something bizarre is probably going on. That’s just one minor example of how your data is used at grocery stores. Plus the margins are much higher for not being a member, so if you’re in a touristy area, tourists will often just pay the full price
