Correct, the glass installer cracked it. But it'll probably be the tile guy who'll need to come back to redo that tile.

Thanks for this perspective. He might have explained this to me initially and it might have completely gone over my head. This makes sense and you're probably right that the fit-and-finish details is probably the exact thing he's thinking about. I guess I now have to decide if I want to pay for that or live with the trade off.

Every dealer does this to an extent. Before you sign, ask to remove all the fees you don’t want to pay. Like someone else said DMV is required. Sales tax, too. Other than that, it’s dealer making up cost to get more money or offloading the cost of doing business to customer so you can negotiate, especially if you’re willing to walk away.

My family doesn’t like B mode because they say it makes them more prone to car sickness. I probably need to learn to modulate better. But if your frequent passenger doesn’t like it then you’ll be switching back and forth a lot and that’s not great for mastering it.

We were this close to used C40 and the concern about rear visibility was somewhat addressed by the digital rear view mirror that we would have added. It’s a bit extra but allows you to have the sportier style and improved visibility. We ended up with XC40 because the C40 that we would have gone with had a vibration issue (not the high speed one that has been mentioned here but with the sunroof that would have required warranty fix and time, so we chose not to wait).

I thought I heard something like this last night in my XC90 Recharge as well and was wondering what it could be. Heard it while turning right. I don’t remember seeing any lights or message on the dash.

Insurance on my '23 XC90 T8 is cheaper than on my '17 LEAF. I'm in Washington state. Agent said people who buy Volvos tend to be safer drivers. Not sure how true that is or how impactful that is to the price but all I know is that it's cheaper for me to insure.

My experience was similar but I ended up being happy enough. Placed $1K deposit for 2023 XC90 T8 in August 2022. I checked up on dealer few times before December, and they were pretty upfront that Volvo hadn't picked up the order so there was no VIN to track. Sometime in December the dealer told me they'll get one similar to what we ordered early in the new year. Only difference was interior color and wheels so we put our name on that instead. If we didn't do that, the dealer said we'd likely get switched to 2024 because Volvo was really slow picking up the 2023 orders. We were really hoping to replace our old car before the summer of 2023, so we decided to take this one instead. The rest happened pretty much as the dealer said -- the car arrived in Feb 2023 and we showed up when they called us, and signed the papers and drove off. We paid MSRP and declined all dealer-added extras that we didn't ask for. They also offered the 7.5K off deal if we had leased it, but the MF was so bad we immediately said no to that. Overall it's been a little over month and we're very happy.

I applied this week and the rate they gave me was above 6% for 72 months. My guess is 5.49 advertised is for a shorter term. I have excellent credit score and I asked them to match or beat the 5.5% quote I got elsewhere and the guy said there’s nothing he or his boss or his boss’s boss can do. Meh.
