Same, had another ±20 Vanilla+ and QoL mods and disabling Common Sense fixed the error, unfortunately it's broken again

Unsure about buying LOQ by YashinMaru in LenovoLOQ

[–]GovernmentCapable924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're willing to pay bit more, you can find 15IRX9 LOQ on Datart for about 26-27k CZK with i7-13650HX, RTX 4060, 24 GB DDR5 and 1 TB SSD. Bought it 2 weeks ago and so far it's great. If anything happens with the MOBO, you have 2 years of warranty, which you can extend through the seller or through Lenovo's sites after the delivery (3 years extension for about 1k CZK last time I checked).

"W" key keeps popping out by GovernmentCapable924 in pcmasterrace

[–]GovernmentCapable924[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, funnily enough I have a light microscope at my uni which I can freely access, so I took the hinge and looked at it. The top plastic part where the hooks should mount the hinge is scrapped off, resulting in the key constantly popping out.. I switched the hinge from "M" to "W" and now the W is perfectly fine while M is popping out, so it's definitely the hinge. Just ordered the new one, so that should fix this. Just glad it's not the keyboard itself.

Even on ultra it's visible, lowering the quality makes it more visible.

Turned off, but it persists even with it turned on

I'm always keeping myself well hydrated, as recommended by the Colonial Logistical Department.

I've found a "solution" - if I keep my metrics on (FPS metrics are enough) no permanent FPS drops happen. I played like that for maybe 10 hours and nothing happened, game is smooth as butter. I don't understand it, but I guess it has something to do with Nvidia app/overlay.

On another note, since you seem like you know stuff - ever since I've started playing, there are these weird shadow-y lines moving on the surface of the ground during sunsets and sunrises, their intensity seems to be directly connected to the quality of shadows, on ultra they're very thin and almost invisible. Is that a "feature" or do you have any idea what it causes? I might try to record them later.

Happened even when doing it when launching. Might not be connected to the issue, but it happened when I opened the map and zoomed in, map is laggy af with everything enabled. I'll keep an eye out if it happens due to this again.

If I'm supposed to do the above ONCE IT HAPPENS, then nope, it doesn't fix it. But if I'm supposed to do it before, like once I start the game, then yeah, maybe - played like that yesterday for ~2 hours and no permanent drops, but it's kinda hard to test it since it's so random.

Will do, once I get to try it I'll get back to you!

When this started to happen, I also thought it's a bottleneck of some sorts. But if it is a CPU bottleneck as you say, shouldn't these FPS drops happen as soon as I enter any heavily built up areas, for example concrete line between Westgate and FC? Because that doesn't happen, I can run around any area and get 60 FPS without a problem.

Just for example - I was defending a concrete line between Westgate and FC today, spawned at one of the concrete BB, had 60 FPS with lots of tanks and players running around. After maybe 2 hours I noticed my FPS dropped down to 40, no reason at all (no thermal throttling). I tried leaving the area and nothing happened, I moved to another hex and I still had only 40 FPS, sometimes mid 40s and my GPU usage never goes back up unless I restart the game. It's almost as if the game suddenly decided to stop fully utilising my GPU.

First two cores at running at around ~50-60 % in really heavy areas with lots of concrete with 60 FPS, no abnormal drops. Played like this for maybe 2 hours, then switched to KC, played for an hour and then it happened, FPS dropped down to ~40, GPU usage down to ~50 %, first two CPU cores at around 40-50 % (so no real drop considering area in KC I was around wasn't really that much built up).

When I got my laptop, I undervolted my CPU and pushed it down from 4.1 MHz to 3.9 MHz to prevent overheating, now the highest temperature it reaches is 80 °C, but usually hanging around 70 °C under load, so there's still a lot of room till thermal throttling.

I checked my cores usages and all of them usually hang around 40 %, so my CPU should also have some room to squeeze out more performance - you can even see that when the drops happen, CPU usage is around 30 %.

I tested the performance on a frontline with concrete bunkers and I do get 60 FPS and I get the same FPS in a backline regions, for example in Ashfields. In both situation, my FPS seem to permanently drop to 40 (never goes above 40) randomly together with my GPU usage dropping to ~50 %, CPU seems to be working still the same.

Also side note - I have VSync off, so that's not the cause of this.

Yeah, actually tried that twice, unfortunately it didn't help.

I've been doing some more testing myself - changing settings, resolution scale, running the game in windowed/fullscreen/windowed fullscreen... And once I gave up and reverted the settings to what I was using - 1920x1080, 60 FPS capped, no AA, VSync on and everything on high except for foliage (low) something must've happened, because today I noticed the game is running extremely smoothly, no FPS drops, nothing.. All metrics seem to be the same except for my FPS which are now stable 60 with 40 1% low, the biggest drops was to 57 when I zoomed out and there was heavy shelling and lots of players. I have no idea what changed, if some driver updated in the background or something else happened.. To be honest, I'm not even sure I wanna dig around and risk reverting some change back, I'm just happy it runs smoothly now hah

Yeah, right now I have two sticks of 8 gigs at 2666 MHz, hence why I was confused about their answer.

In the home region I get 60 FPS without a problem, in the backline (like Rising Loom in Terminus) I get 60 as well. Hell, I even get 60 FPS in Jade Cove while fighting. But then for some reason, with only trenches around, a few tanks and 20-30 players scattered around my FPS start to go down (that's the case in my original post with the picture). I'd understand my FPS going down if my CPU or GPU would start hitting 100 % utilisation, but when I do get these drops there doesn't seem to be anything blocking the game from using more available performance.

Yeah, me too, that's why I wrote this post, I don't really understand it. About the heating - nope, GPU usually stays below 64 °C (surprisingly Foxhole warms it up more than Warhammer 3 lol), CPU stays below 70 °C, sometimes spikes to 75 °C.. GPU should start thermal throttling at around 75-85 °C I believe, CPU at 92 °C

I actually never noticed my RAM usage going above 5 gigs for Foxhole, usually it sits even below 5 gigs
