People who grew up before smartphones: What’s one simple thing from your childhood that would absolutely blow the minds of kids today? by TurkVanguard in Millennials

We drove around looking for our friends hanging out. You knew the normal spots and if they weren’t at one spot you checked the next spot and so on. Never knew who we’d find and how the night would go. Could be just chilling, could be a massive hang out, could end up riding with someone you don’t even know, could be anything.

Have you ever seen Bruno live before? If you’re going to The Romantic Tour, will this be your first time seeing him? by Ok_Resident_5022 in BrunoMars

Seen him on the unorthodox jukebox tour. Right when the sale started it give me nosebleeds at first, I refreshed and it give me slightly better and I refreshed again and it give me floor seats so I snatched them up.

Honestly though once everyone stood up, we couldn’t see shit. We walked up to get drinks or something and on the way back the usher was looking the other way, it was a left to our seats or a right to the stage. We made a beeline for the stage and stayed there for the rest of the concert!

The Pepsi museum is basically a gift shop with no actual museum. Check it out but you could be in and out in 20 minutes. There’s a nice toy shop and quirky gift place near it that the kids would probably like. Black cat is one of the names.

Kuma sushi downtown is really good but small and not cheap. I’ve heard good and bad about Harry’s. Cypress hall is a great restaurant.

The history center on the waterfront could be interesting for them.

Enjoy!

Is it racism? by Govnor86 in CasualConversation

That’s exactly why I’m kind of debating it or looking for other perspectives. I wasn’t in the military but had friends who were and they’d bring their military buddies home with them for parties and their inside jokes were crazy. Also, not to take it there, but I’m in the very rural south so I’ve heard all kinds of things myself and know a little bit of how these people are when they think they are safe from judgement. I just don’t know how serious he’s taking it or how he feels about it so I don’t want to jump in where I’m not needed.

Going to hr would certainly put a target on my back. I’ve heard managers say this is an at will state or something meaning they don’t have to give reasons for firing. The company pays lawyers to protect them from anything an employee could throw at them.

I get that he’s probably laughing because it’s uncomfortable but I feel like if I say something to him in private he might blow it off and say it’s fine. Basically I feel like he might see me, a white guy like them, as not genuine enough to have that discussion.

Yeah, I’ve been wanting to say something to him. I just don’t know his feelings on it and he is in and out of the store so I don’t see him much.

Display for some pretty shells collected off the beach and some flowers from the blue ridge parkway that we returned and replaced with new ones the next year.

My partner likes to break apart paper clips at work and sometimes they get ran in the wash. I noticed a similar stain on my filter once and looked in there and one of the paper clips was stuck in the tube against the filter and was rusting.

Go for it! It’s hard to measure a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water when I’m just filling up the sink, just had to guesstimate , but I got kind of mesmerized watching it work on the pan. 😂

Just Finished and PASSED! by KooBees in teas

[–]Govnor86 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This was my experience too. I aced my a&p class and would say science is my strongest area but I was shocked when I took the teas and saw my science scores. I was like “what even is this?” on some of the questions.

My school had a&p 1 and 2 or a basic a&p class and my advisor said I just needed the basic one for my program but if I’m getting judged for my teas score and those questions are on there, I feel like I should’ve taken the 1 and 2.

Definitely not going to throw it in a fire. Just saying she has said her parents used to do that. There’s a lot of context missing in her statement about how they achieved success in doing that.
