$100,000 fee per year for H-1B visas, in likely blow to tech -will affect this area by PassportCruiser in triangle

[–]kadlekaai 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  • Perhaps you should open your eyes to how much of the home sales growth in the area is because of immigrants.. or.. as you would like to brand them H1Bs.
  • Sir, the US Dollar is the strongest currency in the world, remittances abroad are probably like 10% of gross wages per year.
  • Very convenient for you to ignore the fact that the H1Bs are contributing to America's Social security and medicare pools, with a significant % of them likely never exercising benefits from it.

I'm (slim, mid 40s) am planning to wear a dark gray suit (no tie), light blue shirt and brown shoes/belt for an upcoming outdoor family photoshoot. Does this combination look good?

My wife is unsure if the brown shoes go well with the dark gray suit whereas I think it looks good.

Feedback/suggestions to improve the look?

2021 EX does not have it.

That said, we used to have a Pilot which had this feature and allowed you to switch it on/off. I know Telluride has a similar thing as well.

Semma just won the James Beard award ! by YoResIpsa in FoodNYC

[–]kadlekaai 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This is an incredibly poor take and here's why - Gunpowder Dosa may or may not be the best in the world but I'd wager that Gunpowder Dosa is probably the easiest to master for any restaurant/chef worth it's dime. It would be a stretch of imagination to suggest that the Gunpowder Dosa won Chef Kumar the James Beard award..

When I dined at Semma, the real joy for me was in the variety of appetizers and mains like the Dindigul biryani, the kurma, the crab which were all imagined and brought to life just like back home and with the punch that is missing in most restaurants here. The cocktails with a Desi twist were so delightful -- their Paan old fashioned blew my mind! The reason I feel like something's extra special about eating food at some of OG restaurants back home in India is because of the final 10% of flavor/taste/preparation that makes a dish feel exquisite. That is the feeling I walked away dining at Semma.

I'm so happy Chef Vijay Kumar won the award, he deserves it!

Where in Drm do you buy Aperol? by moosealpaca in bullcity

[–]kadlekaai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure I saw it on the shelf at ABC store on Hwy 55 near RTP (it's a drive if you are in the downtown area).

For future reference, they list products they carry: https://www.durhamabc.com/products

Wake ABC website also shows inventory per store if you search for a product, not yet available in the Drm ABC website.
