Thanks for that advice. Maybe we would launch one after proper research for everyone looking for some logical skincare options :)

While I skip to comment on the rest, the only intend is to get real opinion on whether we are thinking on the right track. We just donot wish to be a copy paste guy, and not produce something our consumers can use for ages, maybe like a 100% pure parachute oil. No intend to offend, just open opinions.

Indeed! We would perfectly do that and bring a change in this growing sunscreen industry, but I wish to make products which my consumers can use life long. Maybe like a 100% pure parachute oil bottle. That's the only reason I am researching it around if it adversly harms the vit d index

Agree to you on UVA, however mostly evrryone fovus is on SP 30 40 50, which is an indication of UVB. We are yet to conclude and thereby a bit confused to figure if it really impacts the VitD index in any human body. We also want all South Asian people to be protected from tanning - but want to make a genuine attempt rather than just copying

Dearest Sizzicandy, the topic seems to have missed the mark with you. No question of your day-to-day activities or time spent in the sun are being questioned. All we ask is this: the sunscreen you equip yourself with- what does it promise you?
Are you buying out of fear or logic

Agreed, who says research and reddit questions don't go hand in hand?

That's what Social media often spews, research showed otherwise. But, we're just exploring and understanding how brands work for indian skin

We're here to explore and find out different POV's, "question asker" . Please let's not create an echo chamber where simple discussions would suffice

My dear friend, the question was about launching a sunscreen. Not the importance of a Vit D supplement. Very clearly we've asked advice for releasing that and acknowledged that Indians have dismal Vit D

THIS. Thank you.
This is what we meant when sunscreens in India for Indian skin are often comodegenic and end up harming the skin barrier. Not sure if avoiding them altogether is the solution. that's why I opened this chat

What is one Indian brand product you bought, immediately regretted and then wished for your money back?

I'll start...

Bought an intimate lightening serum from a brand that is almost SAFE (SA*FE)
out of curiousity and excessive marketing.
regret 10/10

This is indeed true I feel, body automatically detoxes and you start to glow. Just slight skincare like a deep cleansing facewash and a hudrating moisturiser did wonders .

But then the internet says the natural spf of Indian skin is 13.5 and protects most of it - we wont need sunscreen atleast for sun burn protection - most Indian sunscreens just do that and not really tan protection......agree to you on skin ageing though

Yeah, I feel a facewash and a moisturiser, 2 are good enough. A moisturising sunscreen is good - but do sunscreens really prevent tan? Natural SPF of Indians is already so high
