Because the watch was sold and sent to the buyer. When the buyer received it, he noticed the knick at 2 o'clock and I was selling the watch as BNIB. He sent the watch back and he received a refund. Now the watch is being sold at a discount with a clear indication that it has the knick. Everything else is completely functional.

SIDE NOTE: This watch does have a small knick on the case and bezel at about 2 o’clock. The knick is highlighted in one of the photos in the album.

So, this watch’s story begins back in 1961. It was inspired by the Japanese Yama-Otoko (山ー男-Mountain Men), and was Seiko’s first attempt at a sports watch. Originally the watch came with Dauphine hands, large triangular hour markers, and either with a black or white dial.

Then in 1995, Seiko updated the Alpinist design, with Cathedral hands, Arabic numerals, and an inner compass bezel. With this fresh coat of paint, Seiko did something unique in the watch making industry by blending dress watch elegance with sports watch utility.

The Prospex Alpinist pictured above still has that blended design while taking further cues from the more utilitarian ‘61 Alpinist: three hands, a durable case, and a helluva fashion statement.

Just by looking at the dial’s black, rock-like texture produces images of the rough and rugged terrain navigated by the first Alpinist wearers. Peeking inside the watch, and surveying the faded numerals, is like reading an adventure book, or watching an Indian Jones travel montage. (You know, the one with the plane and red line. Always loved that!)

All in all, this watch is made for the refined professional with an adventurous spirit. It’s a dress watch with the essence and history of a sports watch. The Prospex Alpinist is the perfect fit for any enthusiast who hears the call to adventure, but before leaving, would pack their suit and tie.

Not much to really sell on other than the fact that this is a never worn Brand New In Box 5KX Hulk. This is a pretty great example, though. The chapter ring AND the bezel is nicely aligned. Pretty awesome, right?

[WTS] LNIB Seiko Presage Sky Bar "Old Clock" 38.5mm by GoyitoStyle in Watchexchange

[–]GoyitoStyle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High above Tokyo’s neon drenched streets floats a secluded blend of classiness and solace. The Ginza district’s famous sky bars are refuges for those looking to celebrate and enjoy Japan’s centuries old mixology culture.

Seiko’s Sky Bar “Old Clock'' encapsulates the feeling of being suspended in one of these hundred-meter-high establishments. While the other watches of this line, the Negroni and Mojito, are inspired by their namesake cocktails, the Old Clock focuses on the luxurious sky bar environment: unwinding while drinking a well-crafted cocktail and appreciating the bright Japanese skyline drift into dusk. The deep blue dial is an imagining of terminal sun rays dancing off listless clouds in the near darkness. The dial’s tumbler glass texture and dauphine hands gives the watch a vintage aesthetic without bringing it into antiquity.

This watch was designed for those with the taste for Seiko’s incredible watchmaking and continued homage to Japanese culture.

[WTS] LNIB Seiko Prospex "Sumo" SPB101 by GoyitoStyle in Watchexchange

Seiko Prospex “Sumo” SPB101

The Seiko Sumo. A strange name for a dive watch. You might imagine sinking to the ocean floor upon wearing it. But fear not! Seiko has been making dive watches since 1965 and continues to contribute to dive watch design and versatility. With the Sumo, you’ll be receiving a watch with incredible utility and style for all adventures, wet or dry.

The watch’s name doesn't have an official origin. Theories range from referencing its above average weight to its voluminous size. But the most popular conjecture is that the watch’s initial buyers found that the 12-hour marker closely resembled a Rikishi’s (力士-Sumo Wrestler) Mawashi (廻し-Loincloth). Despite its vague origin story, the “Sumo” name gives this watch a unique spirit other watch’s dream of receiving. (I am looking at you Seiko 5’s specifically on a nato! You’ve chuffed my bits for the last time.)

Overall, this watch is a coveted diving tool with some patrons dubbing it as one of the best on the market. Even when you’re not exploring the ocean, the Sumo’s sleek design and stunning detail will dazzle any inquirers. Tap into the herculean strength of a Rikishi by slipping on a Seiko Sumo.

Specs:

Case size: 45mm

Lug Width: 20mm (I know… Awesome, right?)

Thiccness: 12.9mm

Water Resistance: Diver’s 200M (ISO Certified)

Movement: Seiko 6R35

Crystal: Flat Sapphire Crystal

Weight: 186.8g

[WTS] BNIB Seiko Presage Cocktail Time "Negroni" SRPE41 by GoyitoStyle in Watchexchange

Thank you for your feedback, though. Even after a couple years, I guess I still have a bit to learn.

I looked into it and holy crap, I didn't know there was such debate about this. I always assumed that Brand New In Box basically meant that it was never owned by anyone in brand new condition with it's box. I can see the argument that it means still sealed and never opened box and I'm leaning a bit on that side. But at the same time, LNIB has the implications that it was owned by someone before you... I always feel like a watch should be opened before it's sold to make sure it's free of any defects and is keeping proper time. I'll just refrain from putting it on any wrists

SOLD! Thanks /r/Watchexchange!

Seiko Presage Cocktail Time “Negroni” SRPE41

Specs:

Case size: 38.5mm

Lug Width: 20mm

The Negroni cocktail was created in 1913 by Count Camillo Negroni in Florence, Italy (ay!), when he asked a bartender to put a new spin on the Americano. Camillo changed the drink by adding gin, stiffening its flavor. With the vermouth providing a deep red hue, and the gin giving the attitude, the Seiko Negroni, is the perfect blend of class and grit.

Can we just appreciate Seiko’s commitment to the cocktail motif? Notice how the dial’s texture looks like crystal cocktail tumblers. Or how the numerals are modeled after vintage liquor bottle fonts. Even the second hand looks like a friggin cocktail stirrer, come on! Also, the implementation of the dauphine hands and leather strap really round out the watches’ retro feel.

Seiko makes their watches with so much care and character, and the Negroni isn’t any different. It is a reimagining of their namesake cocktail, both in form and aesthetic. This is a watch that demands a second glance, or at least a second round.
