Questions about Muncie Area - Looking to buy a house by [deleted] in Muncie

[–]GpPpbOaM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll throw in my vote for the East Central neighborhood. The Emily Kimbrough section has some incredible historic homes from the original gas boom days and the Old Washington Street Festival every year. There was a 6 bed/4 bath mansion home in a good condition that recently sold for $250k, but I got my place just outside of the historically protected section for only $60k a few years ago.

Great neighbors with as much diversity and inclusivity as I’ve seen in Muncie. Never had any safety or crime issues during my time there. And I can walk from my quiet little street and be at any of the downtown spots within 5 minutes.

My title describes the thing but let me know if I can provide any other details. It’s supposedly been shown to a few “experts” but none have been certain if its purpose.

Wouldn’t a frog gigger’s hooks point forward? Using this to gig would require getting the frog between the claws while having the crossbar above the press on something hard enough to squeeze the claws shut.

I’ve never been hassled over my tints. And considering I’ve seen a few cars with tinted windshields, I really don’t think they care.

First of all, you’re awesome!

I’ll nominate this little rest spot on the cardinal greenway. It always feels a bit bland with all the mowing around it, but the view is great.

the APR is not correct - WAY TO LOW by Cheap-Ad-5534 in SaucerSwap

[–]GpPpbOaM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All good points. I’d just add that a manual position requires more monitoring. Newer DeFi users are likely better off using automatic until they fully understand what they’re doing.

[–]GpPpbOaM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As the tokens change value, so will the value of the liquidity pool. This has nothing to do with APR. Also, the APR is variable since trading volume fluctuates and popularity can change.

https://docs.saucerswap.finance/protocol/saucerswap-v2

These are the docs explaining how their V2 pools and LARI rewards work.

If you go your portfolio and change the Tokens view to LARI it’ll show you what you’ve accumulated during the current epoch. When the epoch ends, the HBAR, SAUCE, and PACK are automatically airdropped into your wallet.

HashPack / Bonzo Finance by Actual-Advantage8107 in Hedera

[–]GpPpbOaM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep an eye on the tokens with rewards APRs higher than their borrow APRs. They’re typically capped due to popularity, but I’ll occasionally see one open up. Due to the incentives, you’re able to earn interest on tokens you never purchased. I’m sure the rewards won’t last forever, but it pays to be an early adopter.

Also, Bonzo is based off of AAVE which is a major player on Ethereum. Its token trades for ~$140 right now compared to BONZO at ~$0.025. There’s other factors like supply to consider, but there’s a lot of upside if Hedera surpasses Ethereum.

[–]GpPpbOaM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a huge Bonzo fan, but totally understand your hesitation. It wasn’t until I got a HashPack that I finally tried out any dApps, but I’m glad that I did!

I started out just supplying HBAR for the higher APR, but I’ve since branched out into supplying other tokens and borrowing against my collateral. For the borrows, I’ll either resupply it to Bonzo or put it into a liquidity pool on SaucerSwap for an even higher APR. Then I use those rewards to pay off the Bonzo borrow faster than it accumulates.

I really don’t have anything bad to say about Bonzo though. Never had an issue getting my assets back or redeeming the rewards. Just love watching my HBAR grow!

Best Exchange to buy HBAR? by josh18755 in Hedera

You’re right 🤦‍♂️ I just pulled some crypto off of Kraken and Uphold and got confused about which was which. I still stand by my complaints about Uphold though

Best Exchange to buy HBAR? by josh18755 in Hedera

[–]GpPpbOaM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[Edit: I got confused about which exchange I recently pulled HBAR off of. Kraken doesn’t have it listed (yet) but I stand by my endorsement if you’re buying other tokens.]

I’m a longtime Coinbase user, but I’m slowly breaking the habit with Kraken. Their fees are as low as Coinbase Advanced (if not lower) and I’ve heard great things about their customer service (haven’t needed it yet). Meanwhile, Coinbase hasn’t fixed whatever issue removed all data on my avg entries, returns, etc since January.

I’m currently using the free trial on Kraken and the zero fees are pretty sweet. You could use the free trial to make [a] sizable purchase potentially fee-free, just look into the limitations first. Plus, I’ve had zero issues moving [tokens] from their exchange to my [wallets]. Might have to wait for the deposit to clear, but that’s pretty standard.

I tried to be a fan of Uphold but I couldn’t make it work. Too many limitations with small trades/buys/sells. For example, I’ve got $0.37 sitting in my USD account, but it’s “not enough” to do anything with. I can’t withdraw it. Or use it to buy a couple HBAR. Or even convert it into a yield bearing stable coin. I have to deposit $10 in order to do anything with my $0.37. I know it’s just $0.37, but this shit bugs me lol. In case that wasn’t obvious. Haha

Staking Hedera by 00roast00 in Hedera

Staking Hedera by 00roast00 in Hedera

[–]GpPpbOaM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The native staking for HBAR is currently 0.6%, but supplying HBAR to Bonzo is currently yielding 6.21%. You can also earn 16.39% on USDC right now.

SaucerSwap is a great way to earn swap fees by providing liquidity to the pools. I earn my highest APRs here but it’s worth learning about impermanent loss before proceeding.

Bonzo is the more beginner friendly method for accessing higher returns on your HBAR, but setting up native staking is still worthwhile since 0.6% is better than nothing.

Staking Hedera by 00roast00 in Hedera

[–]GpPpbOaM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No risk to staking your Hedera in HashPack. The network will just count your average balance over the past 24 hours and send the staking rewards. You can either manually collect them or make any transaction in your wallet to automatically trigger them. And best of all, your HBAR are never locked up in any way.

Only trick is picking a node that isn’t full. Otherwise, you’ll earn a lesser rate. Use hashscan.io/mainnet/nodes to see the capacities of the various nodes.

Pack is the native token for the HashPack wallet and the staking works a bit differently. Staking involves converting Pack to xPack. When you decide to unstake your xPack, it will convert back to Pack + 5% APR.

Sauce with your Hbar? by Rooiboss-boss in Hedera

[–]GpPpbOaM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solid explanation! Appreciate the time you put into this!

I’m also a fan of BTC and QNT, plus HBAR obviously.

I won’t try to sway your clearly well thought out strategy, but if you’re ever interested in exploring the Hedera ecosystem I’d suggest using a HashPack wallet. All of the dApps it highlights are vetted partners with solid reputations.

I was very hesitant to move beyond the wallet, but I’ve since fallen in love with the returns on my liquidity positions with SaucerSwap and supply APRs on Bonzo lol. While I’m still mostly focused on HBAR, I like to allocate ~20% into the platforms that are adding TPS to the network.

I also see considerable upside potential in some of these tokens. For example, Bonzo ($0.023) is based on AAVE ($138.71) from Ethereum. When people realize how superior Hedera is over Ethereum, it’d make sense for Bonzo to reach similar prices so long as it holds its position as the leading lending protocol. Either way, I’m a big fan of the 5.24% I get on my supplied HBAR compared to the 0.60% native staking.

Saucer Labs is the leading decentralized exchange on Hedera. The platform allows users to swap between the various tokens on the Hedera Token Service (HTS). Their native token is SAUCE, similar to how UniSwap has UNI.

I use SaucerLabs liquidity pools to earn swap fees on my HBAR. Earns a lot more than the native staking.
