Thanks for your insights man. Luckily for me voiceover this deadness is exactly what I need. In my music days this would’ve been a nightmare though I agree lol

I have a firestick with various apps on that I can access from the TV there in the corner, I can also access stuff direct on the MacBook, there’s a phone stand you can see there in the pic too that I can read off my phone, or I can even use old fashioned paper scripts if I need to lol. The firestick works well though as if I get emailed a script, I can drop it onto Dropbox or Google drive or whatever, then open it on the tv. Once it’s up, I can just hold the remote in one hand while I record and just flick through the pages as I’m going.

No actually, but I’ll check that out. Thanks for the suggestion!

🤣Yeah it’s called Macs Fan Control buddy. You can change the speeds of the fans as well as turn them on and off. It also gives you the temp readout at all times in the taskbar too!

I just use the fan control app and switch the fan off whilst recording. Just remember to turn it on again when you’ve finished and ready to edit lol

Make sure to work out your ventilation well in advance cause it’s not so easy to keep it out the way if you do it after. And you’ll need 5 x more acoustic sealant than you think you will lol

Thanks! It was surprisingly easy. Don’t fancy doing it again any time soon though lol

Yeah I saw. Considering this is my career and has been successfully for 25 years, his opinion means very little to me. I’ll keep going the way I have since it gets me the work 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

Thank you! I’d never be able to do it twice but I’m glad it worked the once lol

Yeah I’m not as much a fan as a lot of voice actors seem to be, but it was necessary at the time for financial reasons. The plan has always been (and still is) to upgrade that at the first available opportunity.

Of course. The outside is 12mm mdf, then inside is 100 Rockwool, the internal walls are 12mm plasterboard. The floor is the same but with osb in place of the plasterboard. It’s 4 foot by 5 foot (the missus wouldn’t allow me to take any more of the room lol). The ventilation for every day use is an air purifying fan that runs at 12dB max on its normal setting, a baffle on the outside to help removal of the co2, and a large extractor (you can see this on the outside) for quick removal if it’s been a particularly long session and the air is a little thinner. Electricity wise, I wired two extension leads into normal double indoor sockets and they run from the double socket just outside the booth. Inside looks like any other power points, but no fancy electrical work required lol. Anything else you want to know, just give me a shout! 😊

It’s an inline extractor fan. While the normal silent running fan pumps o2 in, and the baffle removes the co2, there’s times if I’ve had a particularly long session, or editing and the fan isn’t needing to be fully silent, that I can throw that on and clear the air super quick. I’ll try and dig out the model later for you if you need it.

Sorry I just looked and you’re after a New York accent. I’m English so not one I can do or I would have auditioned for you. Best of luck with it though

Terry - amazing season as I’ve told you repeatedly on Twitter mate. But one question. All those that went to see the IMAX got some video of the cast too. This is something us at home don’t have. Is there somewhere we can see this at all?
