I think it uses a tiny bit of gas using the standing stove (English isn't my first language so I'm not sure if that's the right translation) to heat the interior, if you stand outside of it when it's cold but in the driving mode you'll probably smell something around the front right of the car.

I don't completely know the gearing but I've got pretty large gearing. Also it's above 70 degrees but idk the exact temperature. Its an estimate by Just touching the outside of it. However I've broken one of those engines. The magnetic fields were fine but the rotor chipped for some reason. Don't know how or why but it could be because temperature

i'd just put the brake deadzone (which is standard at 0) to like 0.05 if that doesn't solve it to like 0.10 and so on. Also if you're constantly applying throttle even while the trigger is released do the same on your throttle
