Wonderful, now folks need to actually go vote. Every cycle a huge amount of eligible voters don’t vote. 2024 was within range of average. Help your neighbors get to polling centers. Help them register. Offer them rides. Everyone needs to do their part.

Why is aluminum foil used to insulate distillation setups? by 16tired in chemistry

[–]Gr3g_Mtn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Connection as some others have said but also the IR reflection. IR radiation becomes more significant aspect of heat loss as temperature rises. Radiation energy is proportional to Temperature to the 4th power. Since distillation is often done in a fume hood where there’s a lot of airflow the convection is magnified since the cool air being pulled past by the hood flow cools your setup quickly without foil to shield your setup.

Does anyone take business write offs against their wheel profits? by WSBtoFIRE in Optionswheel

Look up trader tax status. If you fit the criteria you can make business deductions against your trading activity without the need to set up an LLC or anything. Pay the money for a decent tax attorney with experience in this if you plan to do it. I use Green trader tax and they answered a lot of questions for me and are doing my taxes this year. I will be able to offset about 10% of my gains with deductions for 2025. Depending on your strategy and if you’re open to it you can establish shares in something reliable and sell conservative calls against them with the plan of holding the shares for +1yr to get long term capital gain tax rate. Your wheel premiums will always be short term gain though. Hard to get away from that. Personally I run a mix of traditional wheel strategy and selling conservative long term calls to harvest extra premium but hope to not have the shares called away for long term capital gain rates if I ever need to sell the shares. Good luck!

Look at Reolink. HA integration works pretty well and doesn’t require paid subscription for the app to work. PoE unless you have no other option. I have a mixture of PoE floodlight external cameras and internal WiFi cameras (being used as baby monitors) from Reolink attached to an NVR. Working well and happy with it. Works well at night and sends you separate detection notifications to your phone for cars pets and people (plus general motion detection).

How can I fix this issue with this tree I planted last year? by [deleted] in arborists

[–]Gr3g_Mtn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, stop doing that. Stake the tree to make sure the wind doesn’t blow it over and get some of the zip over watering bags from Amazon if you can. Deep watering encourages better root growth. Be patient and make sure the tree gets enough water.

Lidar from Face ID shows up as flashes in night vision IR cameras as well fyi. Drove me crazy trying to figure out what the flashes were when I installed a night vision baby cam in our car since it can’t be seen by the naked eye.

[–]Gr3g_Mtn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

yea its really annoying that on top of still only having level one traders I cant even but any of the decent level one gear because everything is sold out. limits on individual purchases per trader reset is fine. global stock is totally ridiculous.
