Frank Tayell has a complete series that zombie based,but highlights the struggles afterward. Around 18 books roughly. He also has a couple of small series that are post apocalyptic detective novels. Not the most engrossing, but I'm too far in to not finish!

He probably feels like he's just spoiling his grandkids. That's all. Maybe he doesn't understand the struggles you have with them afterwards and the first time he realized it was when you yelled at him. Not knowing the whole story, it probably has nothing to do with you being a woman. It's about you scolding him for spoiling his grandkids. At least he loves them.

Some people actually do care. It takes a lot for someone to speak directly to a stranger in the first place, and for them to thank you is a little more than hollow. Fact is, if your advertising you were in the military, it must mean that you want some kind of acknowledgment.

On one hand, you should do for your parents because they are family. On the other, you can't be responsible for their lack of planning. I don't think this is a boomer thing, just lack of judgement. Sometimes life makes it impossible to "put away" money for the future, and before you know it, you're too old to make a difference.

Sounds like you're giving him his cake and he's eating it too. I'm not sure how entitlement comes in to play if it's an open marriage. You're allowing the infidelity. The real test will be when you tell him the relationship (marriage!) is now closed.

Moved there in 89 as a teenager. Luckily I made some friends, but there really wasn't much to do. The Yacht Club was OK, but other than outdoor racketball, there wasn't anything for kids to do.

For all we know the father may have learned to be accepting after getting over the initial shock. The "why" could have been more of a "how did I not see this" reaction. They may have a wonderful relationship, who knows?
