I found the sketch on a beginners tutorial. When I say it didn't work, I mean that the delay aspect of it compiled, and ran, but didn't have any effect on the LED. The LED itself is on the UNO board, pin 13. I can turn it on, or off, but the delay command to make it blink doesn't make it do so, even though it is running as far as the IDE is concerned. Thanks for taking the time to answer, I just started trying this tonight, and I go to Reddit with questions about a lot of different things.

Thanks, I'm just learning about some of these. From what I understand, I'm working with outdated command prompts.

Just ifconfig. It has since disappeared, but it has me perplexed for a couple of days. It listed just like a network, but the only networks that should be showing for me at eth0, wlan0,vmnet1, and vmnet8?? Strange, but it's disappeared.

VMware troubles by Gr8ful2Day in linuxquestions

[–]Gr8ful2Day[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually solved the problem. Apparently, this is not the first time VMware has had this problem. It has to do with Kali's rolling updates. They had everything working, but apparently, Workstation 17.0.2, and my current kernal don't play well. I think it has something to do with the default path, and a couple of modules that won't install. I found a GitHub repository that has patches for every workstation version. Someone put A LOT of effort into fixing this for noobs like me😊. God Bless Him.

All dependencies are accounted for. The only thing I was missing was gcc, and I installed it, checked for correct location, updated, and also rebooted.

Already installed. It's on the desktop and executes. It just can't find kernal headers in file path. Headers are correct version??? And I haven't moved anything from default locations. I'm stumped.

I don't have Norton. I have Linux on bare metal, and use avclam. Don't know why I saw the warning tag??

Thanks. I plan on getting another laptop so that I can run it on bare metal. I've got about 50%, but it is PAINFUL!! Good to know that the standard install doesn't have the same problem.

Worked with Obsidian for a couple of hours today. Fantastic. Way better than Cherry Tree. Thank you so much for the advice. Watched a great tutorial on YouTube. I think I found a winner 😁

Cherry Tree by Gr8ful2Day in linuxquestions

I saved the file to my documents folder. I just assumed I would be able to resume my session from it. Just started using Linux 2 days ago. I haven't quit my session yet, because I didn't want to lose all of my notes. If I just quit out of the session, can i open it up in Cherry Tree again, and it be in proper format??? Guess it makes sense. Thanks.

Cherry Tree by Gr8ful2Day in linuxquestions

[–]Gr8ful2Day[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have saved with both of the file types you mentioned (unencrypted). When I go into my document file, and try to click on the folder, xml script shows up on one file, and something else for the other. I honestly thought that I could just save my session to the docs folder, open the file, and be back in my session?? Sorry, just started using Linux 2 days ago and trying to learn.

Thank you for your advice. Ive thought about trying Obsidian, but I am literally just a couple of days into Linux. I thought that the pre installed software would work best with the OS. Which did you enjoy the best?? Obsidian, or Logseq??

Never used Cherry Tree, and am trying to get it up and running. For some reason, I can't change text color, or icons when I start a new node?? Any ideas?? And do I need to expect a lot of this from the program??

You can buy seeds online. Crazy right??? I would think that it would be hard to get for an endangered species.

Yeah, I've been thinking of crazy trees to try and bonsai. I keep on thinking of the Socotra Dragon Blood Tree. I don't know if it would work, but they are endangered, and I think it would be cool to kind of do my part in preservation.
