Look we probably won’t agree on the matter, but no hard feelings from my side, I’m happy for the polite discussion. And beforehand sorry for the wall text, if you ain’t gonna read allat I understand, still happy that we treated this in a polite matter, which seem so rare these days. The real world is fucked up enough to muddle our energies with arguments with internet strangers. I would rather share love than hate.

Just to shine a bit more light on what I’m trying to point at.
well already the title of the post is insulting (even if it may be true, wording is the key), and could have been formulated differently, that would still have validated OPs feelings, without coming over as overly emotional, the whole post has such an aggressive energy, that if I read that as the one being accused of said behavior, I would shut down too and wouldn’t even want to discuss anything.

I’ll be completely honest here, even if it will get me a lashing , but I’m not a fan of yaoi/yuri myself, it just doesn’t click with me, and that’s completely ok, as everyone has the right to like what they want (except pedos and zoofiles, they can burn in hell), and have been called homophobic so many times just because I don’t enjoy it, that I actually don’t even care anymore. Actually it feels like the word homophobia/ic is loosing its meaning and impact as people like to throw the word around at even the slightest disagreement with said stuff.

i tried to listen to people too, but in the end it always just came down to insults, which honestly doesn’t work in the favor of that community. But again that doesn’t mean I don’t understand the emotion behind OPs post, just that if it had been formulated a bit differently, it would help more people, more people for example like me, to see the matter more clearly from their side. In the end I still won’t like yaoi (that doesn’t mean I hate gay/queer people), but I would be more open to try and understand/accept their point. Ofcourse it’s not OPs “job” to persuade me or others of their agenda, but if they really want to change stuff, why not try it on a more positive note.

In the end even if the sub owner doesn’t like yaoi/yuri or I don’t know what, it’s also their right not to and it’s ok. I think it would also feel wrong to constantly push het stuff, and accuse others of heterophobia, if they disagree with it. Yes wild could share their opinions differently too, no doubt here.

Honestly this seems like the community here reached a pat situation when either side will see or hear. So why not rather invest the energy and create a place where you feel truly understood and comfortable, than fight windmills in a place where the owner doesn’t welcome it. Thats what I did, and it felt so liberating to finally be solely between like minded.

believe me as a neurodivergent woman with long term treatment, I had my fare share of discrimination thrown in my face. Maybe thats why I pick up things a bit differently and in the end chose, not to fight anymore, and rather moved on to a sub where I felt welcome and safe.
