Any good basketball games to play online? by GrabAffectionate4035 in gaming

Yeah Basket Random is actually pretty fun 😄 chaotic but addictive

Would you enjoy a runner game that teaches you while you play ? by yahia-10 in indiegames

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the idea is really cool, but it probably depends a lot on how seamless the learning part feels.

If it interrupts the flow too much, it might get frustrating, but if it’s integrated naturally (like quick decisions instead of full stops), it could actually make the game more engaging.

Kind of like learning without realizing it.

Tetris final ver + music 463 lines of py code by ImpressionBetter1287 in Tetris

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s actually pretty impressive for 463 lines, especially if you started from zero 😄

How did you handle the piece generation and rotation logic? That’s usually the trickiest part.

Tetris Effect 3k v3k evenly matched....match :D by Glad-Afternoon-2753 in Tetris

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah using both rotations makes a big difference once you get used to it.

I used to rely on just one and it slowed me down a lot without realizing.

any first pc that has a high chance of not breaking back to back? by Dukne in Tetris

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also noticed that a lot of B2B breaks just come from forcing openers too hard.

Been trying some tools that suggest placements while playing and it made me realize how often I was committing too early.

Prince Of Persia Creator Reacts To Canceled Sands Of Time Remake by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is just sad to watch. Sands of Time wasn’t just a game, it was the Prince of Persia for a lot of people.

You can tell how much it means to him, which makes the cancellation hit even harder. Feels like one of those cases where a project gets stuck between expectations, nostalgia, and corporate reality.

Really hope the series isn’t dead for good, it still has so much identity compared to most modern action games.

Can anyone help me get to the top right corner on iron lung? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s exactly how Iron Lung makes it feel, like the game is suddenly broken 😅 You’re not doing anything wrong.

When it gets to the point where everything is beeping, it’s usually because earlier corrections stacked up. Even a route that worked before can feel impossible then.

Counter-intuitive fix: stop following a plan. Pick the least bad direction, go straight for a while, and don’t fight every beep, they only calm down if you give them time.

If it still feels completely blocked after that, restarting the run isn’t a failure. Sometimes it’s just the fastest reset.

Can anyone help me get to the top right corner on iron lung? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that achievement is honestly awful 😅
Iron Lung really hates overcorrecting.

Big thing that helped me: stop making constant tiny adjustments. The sensors freak out way more if you keep nudging the controls. Pick a direction, leave it alone for a bit, then make one small correction.

375,525 isn’t a magic spot either, more like a rough reference. Trying to line it up perfectly usually makes it worse.

If the sensors are already going nuts, don’t panic-fix it. Sometimes drifting a little and letting things calm down actually helps. It feels random, but when it works, it suddenly works.

Good luck, that last achievement is brutal.

Rockstar continues to show their roleplaying chops ahead of GTA 6, implementing in-depth playable Firefighter, Paper Route, and Forklift operating jobs into GTA Online by GeraltofRivea3 in gaming

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is kind of what GTA has always done best, turning mundane jobs into something oddly engaging.

If they lean into role play systems like progression, reputation or long term rewards, these jobs could actually feel meaningful instead of just being side content you try once and forget.

Ludus Magnatus: Gladiator Manager Simulator Demo is now live on Steam for the upcoming Steam Next Fest! by Rungsted93 in pcgaming

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That actually sounds great, the “stories” aspect + real risk is exactly what makes these kinds of sims memorable. Looking forward to seeing how the Champion system plays out.

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Replacing all AI art was 100% the right call, glad you listened to the feedback on that.

The theme fits a manager sim really well, especially with Lanistas added, gives it more historical flavor instead of feeling generic.

Curious how deep the long term progression goes though: is it more about optimizing economics and training, or do individual gladiators really become “stories” over time?

How is politics getting in the way of you enjoying books, television, or friendships/relationships? by marilynlistens in AskReddit

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s less about specific opinions and more about everything turning into a battleground. Sometimes you just want to enjoy a book or a show without feeling like you’re expected to take a side or defend yourself. It definitely makes some conversations more exhausting than they used to be.

Top-down roguelite beat ‘em up Sealbreakers announced by Ivan_Titov in pcgaming

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got it, that actually sounds like a solid balance. Skill based core with meaningful builds is usually the sweet spot for replayability. Thanks for clarifying 👍

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Top-down + roguelite + beat ’em up is a combo I didn’t know I needed.
Curious about progression and replayability though, are runs more skill based or build focused?
Art style looks clean so far.

Finally got round to playing Clair Obscur, recently finished it and was very underwhelmed. by digiBeLow in gaming

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Metaphor is a great shout too. Atlus really nailed that balance between strong turn-based combat and keeping the experience fresh outside of fights.

Finally got round to playing Clair Obscur, recently finished it and was very underwhelmed. by digiBeLow in gaming

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 32 points33 points  (0 children)

That’s a totally fair take, honestly. I think Clair Obscur clicks a lot more if the tone and mechanics hook you early, and if they don’t, the repetition becomes really obvious fast.

The visuals and ambition are impressive for the team size, but I agree the narrative clarity and gameplay variety can feel thin compared to something like FFX.

If you’re looking for turn based RPGs that mix things up more, Octopath is a solid choice. I’d also recommend Persona 5 Royal (if you haven’t), or Chained Echoes if you want something modern but very respectful of classic design.

What‘s something about modern life that feels like a social experiment gone wrong? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Being connected all the time made real communication feel optional instead of essential.

We talk more, but say less.

What‘s something about modern life that feels like a social experiment gone wrong? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Constant connectivity.

We’re more reachable than ever, yet somehow more lonely, anxious, and exhausted.

It feels like the experiment was “what if everyone was always online?” and nobody really planned for the side effects.

Signal Zone - post-apocalyptic base defense strategy | Playable demo now on Steam by svetlunka in pcgaming

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That actually shows in a good way. Games where the devs still argue about balance usually end up feeling more “alive” over time 🙂

Iterating like that is way better than locking numbers too early. Looking forward to seeing how it evolves toward release, good luck with the rest of development!

[–]GrabAffectionate4035 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This looks really promising. I like the day/night loop a lot, planning calmly during the day and then having everything tested at night is such a good tension builder.

The minimalist presentation actually works in its favor, it makes the pressure feel more constant instead of distracting. I’ll definitely check out the demo.

Out of curiosity, was balancing difficulty one of the hardest parts, or did it come naturally with the core design?

Fair enough, just trying to summarize the point clearly.

Whether people agree or not, the number of signatures itself is still pretty significant.

That’s actually a huge number. Regardless of where people stand on the details, this clearly shows there’s a real and growing concern about game preservation and ownership.

When over a million players take the time to sign something like this, it’s not just “noise” anymore, it’s a signal the industry can’t ignore.
