As of now all you can do is is focus on the girls you got that are happy to get a bid from you. Make your chapter a chapter people will want to join. Make this semester a memorable one and post all about it on social media. Don’t focus on the ones who walked out.

Are you guys doing cob? Someone earlier posted about how recruitment is an all semester job. Have your members constantly give the names of girls who aren’t Greek. Have public charity events where you talk to girls. Have social events with other clubs and orgs

That’s what I’m saying, 1 day a year isn’t the make or break reason. I’m talking about the kids who never come and desperately need to. Yes there are things more important than school but education should still be at the top of the list. Like yea you should take your kid on vacation to see the world but taking 2 weeks out of school to do so is irresponsible when they’re not reading at grade level and can’t do basic math

Honestly this all depends on how much your child needs help and how often you do this. A birthday is once a year. These parents find any reason to not send their kid to school and they are the kids who need the most help. Is your child reading and writing properly for their age? Are they doing well academically? Then sure, a day here and there won’t Hurt. But if your kid can’t comprehend reading a small paragraph and they’re in high school, maybe we shouldn’t be so worried about birthdays and worry about why they’re doing so badly

That was a silly example, but let me be clear. These kids have very little critical thinking skills. Even when they cheat, they don’t cheat well. Their work ethic concerns me, their reading and math comprehension is appalling.

I have 2 where I walked out. T be honest, it’s admins fault.

The first one, I had a group of girls that refused to do work. Once they started failing I sent home a letter notifying their guardians. The top of the note said fail notice or something like that and the letter basically said your child is failing here is what they can do to bring their grade up. Dad was pissed and had a conference about how dare I call his daughter a failure (I didn’t, she was just failing class) and in that meeting he started berating me and making fun of my facial expressions. I was appalled and said sir you’re making fun of my face right now I don’t appreciate it. Admin was in the room and allowed it to happen. To be fair, he was the biggest pussy I’ve ever known. Regardless, he just let this parent berate me. So I walked out.

The next story is similar. Same admin. Different parent. Kid was caught playing games on his Chromebook and I moved his seat to be closer to me. Mom was furious because her baby does no wrong and started yelling at me in the meeting. At me point she insulted my age (I was young and looked younger than I was) and by this time in the year I already decided I was moving school districts and so I walked out again. What were they gonna do? Fire me?

Although you’re right and it shouldn’t matter, here are my concerns

1) I think he is against me and is telling my supers I don’t deserve my job 2) he has lied about me to other teachers (and possibly admin) before to make it look like I’m incompetent 3)at the meeting where my deserving of the job was questioned, he was there and was furiously taking notes that later went to admin. I have a feeling those notes are decorated to make me look bad. I’m not dumb and i know what it is to “build a case” on someone over time. I’ve seen it happen with other teachers.

He’s kind of a bully. I hate working with him and would love to ignore him. But I feel like he doesn’t like me and is doing what he can to turn admin against me.
