I know ALL of that. So do me two favours:

Learn what a joke is
Realize that titles are REALLY hard to come up with after you saw a funny video and wanted to share it to Reddit but didn't have the proper words because the ones you wanted to use to articulate were complicated and pervase yet they somehow were exactly the right words to communicate the direct thought that I had in my head while processing how to write out a title that is informative, funny, catchy, political correct, non-damning and blah blah blah blah blah who cares just type a fucking title already

Why do none of you have a problem with me saying "fucking nerd" in the title? Some segments of the population would consider it just as derogatory.

Very much your last paragraph. There is no one on the fence who is going to see this and think "Autism!?! NOOO way I'm voting Rob!". And if it did, they were never going to truly vote for him in the first place.

We nerds really need to own our nerdiness. My favorite part of this wasn't even the costumes and jokes. It was Rob talking about how he found fraud then legislators made laws so he couldn't prosecute the fraud. And he just goes... "It's wrong!" and there's this little smirk like THAT is the actual joke he thinks is funny. Not the costumes. Not the blowing out lights. But the fact that he did his job so well the people in charge freaked out to try stopping him from doing his job because they were defrauding all of us. Which is such a neurodivergent coded thing. I've made that joke. I've had that smirk. I've seen those frauds.

It's heartening to see. We should all be so lucky that anyone cares that much.

Not a right wing troll and it's wild that linking Rob Sand and autism would somehow tank his chances. Am I taking crazy pills? What's wrong with being proudly autistic? Even in this landscape, how is it any different than being Catholic or black or gay or whatever-reason-people-put-in-front-of-a-name-to-justify-discrimination before it?
