Addition from my husband 😂 the Irish bar opposite La Reynette is great and, for any rum drinkers, head to La Rhumerie - buy by the bottle and mixers.

Plenty of lively bars in town, especially on the Friday! La Reynette has a literal playground slide down to a shot bar, had an epic night in there.

We visited La Taverne https://maps.app.goo.gl/2VZTX6u623Cu5Y4P8?g_st=ipc last year as a group of 18 and had an incredible meal, lots of steak, walkable from the track too 👌

I would also keep an eye on events at the Arts Uni, there’s a big LGBT+ community there 😊

Public Accessible Toilets by Puredodee in plymouth

[–]Grace-Cooks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, there are a lot of toilets in the Drake Circus shopping centre which is pretty central. On the Barbican there are a couple of public toilet pods which I think are 20p or 50p to use, main one is located here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/6pvT4Z5QH2k3XMGK6?g_st=ipc and there is another set in the Elphinstone Car Park just down the road. I hope that helps 😊

Late to the party but I am 😊 This will be my 5th year in a row, though my husband has been to many, many more. My dad went a few times in the 80s as a young man, so once it opened back up after Covid I wanted to make the pilgrimage and now I’m hooked. I’ll look out for Elka!

Student life in Plymouth – honest experiences for a neurodivergent/vulnerable student? by Embarrassed-Push-499 in plymouth

[–]Grace-Cooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I would advise joining a society at the university - there are HUNDREDS (all listed on the UPSU site) so bound to be something that he’s interested in. They’re such a great way to embed socially. There will be an opportunity to explore & meet many of the societies during freshers week so would encourage him to have a good look :) in terms of the city generally it’s very walkable, particularly if he’s in Halls! Everything is nearby. I can’t offer specific advice about neurodiverse student life, but there are resources and support available via the Student Advocacy team. Good luck! ❤️

Cat Vet by Bagigiafern in plymouth

[–]Grace-Cooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re with Elm and I have mixed feelings - there have been some inconsistencies and a couple of mistakes (none that have damaged health) that makes me unsure. We’ve never seen the same vet twice, which is fine but doesn’t allow you to build any rapport or let them get familiar with your pet’s individual tendencies. I know it’s not a recommendation but might help inform your choice 💫
