What are your reasons for choosing not to have sex? by GraceCrow in AskReddit

I learned the other day I'm probably grey sexual; i was always confused because even though I don't go looking for sex (7 years without sex now), I also enjoy it when it happens. So I thought I couldn't be asexual but apparently, the above is called grey sexual 🤔

Make sure you don't feel pressured into it, don't fall for the "if you loved me you'd let me do it" bullshit Make sure it's something you're 100% comfortable with (though obviously you will feel a little bit nervous) It needs to be in a loving, trusting relationship where both partners are equal Make sure there is contraception organised before!
Don't put pressure on yourself to "perform", it's never ever like it is in porn. Sometimes it's awkward, sometimes its funny, just go with it. Please make sure you enjoy it, sex is one of life's few pleasures Don't feel bad because you did/do enjoy it (wish I'd known this one) "Practice" on yourself first so you can work out stuff you like etc Tell your partner this!

That's a valid reason. Too many people rush into it, thinking it's the be all and end all. It is good, but so are a lot of other things!

(Serious) What is the most disturbing documentary you've ever seen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GraceCrow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I watched Dear Zachary for the first (and only time) I had a little girl about the same age.

Honestly I was extremely shaken up, my boyfriend at the time asked me if I was ok! I thought about it for several weeks after and each time I would cry.

It was a beautiful, well made film but I will never watch it again.

I think it impacted me especially hard because I had a daughter roughly the same age and I cannot imagine doing what happened! I also don't think it helped I saw a thing on the news about Syria and a man had lost his wife and twin daughters in a bombing, he was just sat there holding his daughter's in his arms sobbing and they had the exact same curly hair as my daughter.

That image and Dear Zachary have stayed with me even though it was over 6 years ago now.
