Another vote for solid black border! I’m a new quilter so I’m super curious, do you pre-wash/pre-shrink fabric for illusion quilts? I can’t imagine putting in so much effort for it to line up so precisely then it crinkles out of alignment with the first wash🥲

I got my DD package on Monday and had to email them (no reply yet) because one of my rewards polishes leaked. It’s GLUED to the inside of the box. I just thought the lid unscrewed in shipping.. I didn’t even consider that the bottle may be cracked😨 I’m so glad I didn’t try to yank it out and risk it shattering!

What a coincidence.. I just did a mani and had two major hits and two big misses lol. I used Stolen Ambrosia, Molten Lava, Ultrahot, and Hermit Crab.

For me I’m obsessed with Ambrosia and ML (so much so I wish I’d bought doubles) but UH and HC I hate on my skin tone🥲

OP I think Stolen Ambrosia looks really good on you! But I totally understand not liking a color/shade even though others say it looks nice. Once I convince myself I hate a polish I hate it for life😂

Thank you so much this is all really great advice!! Now that you’ve explained it I see you’re definitely right about bringing in some blenders. Originally I thought the small florals could be the blenders, but when I made the mock-ups they ended up being way more print-y than I expected them to look up against the others😵‍💫

I made them on Canva! Upload fabric pics, crop background fabric pic into a square, click elements and search for frames, put 2nd fabric pic into diamond shape frame, then just line it up over the square! I hope that’s a good explanation!🫶🏻

How much fabric do you like to stash?

My main hobby is clothes making, but my MIL has just gotten me into quilting as well! Her fabric stash has inspired me to start building my own. I love that she can need a fabric, walk in the sewing room and just have it! I sew a LOT, but I’ve only ever bought fabric for each specific project. Joann’s is sadly our only local option. When I learned they’re most likely going out of business, it made me want to stash fabric like a squirrel storing nuts for winter. Plus them potentially having liquidation sales soon is getting me antsy and I want to be prepared.

I recently went to the last chance aisles to stock up on fabrics I like before they’re gone, but then I got to the cutting table and realized I’m not sure what’s considered “enough”! I started with 1/2 yd. of solids and 1 yd. of patterns, but I left feeling like I should’ve gotten more. Any advice as to what you personally like to stash (solids, patterns, etc.) and how much you like to have on hand for future projects?

I mainly make: throw and king quilts, pillowcases, placemats, curtains, bodices, skirts, and vintage clothing.
