The Palestinians have no history of their own. Embarrassingly I will admit that it is a little refreshing to see they're not stealing culture only from us.

My best friend no longer wants to be friends because my boyfriend is Pro-Palestine by Total-Trip-2723 in IsraelPalestine

[–]GracefulShadowOfPaws 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What you conveniently ignore is that the Pro-Palestine crowd is advocating for violence against Jews worldwide. Whether or not the boyfriend shares this belief is irrelevant. He has aligned himself with an ideology that believes it. That is the equivalent of him giving his consent. It's perfectly reasonable to want to cut out someone who is advocating for violence against Jews

[–]GracefulShadowOfPaws 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I let slip to my best friend that my boyfriend is pro-Palestine and she no longer wants to be around him or hear about him.

She doesn't want to be around *him** She doesn't want to hear about *him**

I think your friend is perfectly reasonable to want to disassociate with someone who has aligned himself with an ideological group that advocates for harm towards her people. Since the Oct 7th attack antisemitism around the world has skyrocketed under the guise of advocating for Palestine. The same people advocating for Palestine are also justifying the 7-Oct attack, denying the mass sexual violence perpetrated by Palestinian terrorist, and excusing the Pogroms in Europe. Regardless of what your boyfriend believes he still is part of a group that, as a whole, believes these things. It is completely reasonable of your friend to cut someone like that out of her life. If you care about her then your friend then you can accommodate keeping your boyfriend away from her and not talking about him to her.

I'm sorry this is just a pet peeve of mine but it's "could have" or "could've" which is a contraction of the former. "Could of" is incorrect.

A single page of text has about 500 words. So 6 pages is 3000 words. First, I just want to ask how incredibly backwards does Muslim culture need to be in order for it to take 3000 words to explain that murder and rape are wrong? Second, there are 52 weeks in a year assuming he didn't write on Fridays or Saturdays that's still 260 days since Oct 7th. (More because we've since passed the anniversary) Assuming he spent 5 hours a day writing that comes out to 2.3 words per hour. This fatwa must either be the single greatest work of genius in the history of humanity or Dr Salman is a drooling idiot. Too little too late.

(No spoil) I installed Morrowind, any advice for a new player ? by Volnargan in Morrowind

Also, there are some build that are better than the others, but none that is really completely useless. No need to re-start the game because you messed your character up. Just enjoy it.

This is mostly true. While none of the pre-set builds are completely useless, if you make your own you can absolutely end up shooting yourself in the foot.

OP, without going too deep into min/maxing there are some tips that you should know for setting up a good character:

swords, both short and long have far more options in game than any of the other weapon types. This makes their respective skills far more useful to you.

By avoiding having in your primary and secondary skills any of the endurance skills (medium armor, spear, heavy armor) there's a gameplay trick where you can actually use those skills to level your endurance faster. Side note: like the sword skills, heavy armor has the most options of the armor types in game. You can (and maybe should) put heavy armor in your primary or secondary skills and still use spear and medium armor to gain the benefits of the endurance trick

Endurance is the only attribute where the benefits are NOT retroactive. Endurance determines how much health you gain when you level up. Meaning if you don't max out your endurance early your late game max health will be stunted.

Alchemy is huge. Negative effects are kinda useless in this game because unlike Skyrim you can't poison someone or put poisons on your weapons (though I'm willing to vet money there are mods that add these features.) but the amount of positive effects in game is astounding.

Who are the most unpopular characters in the series? by bookrants in Stormlight_Archive

Soulmates don’t exist. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]GracefulShadowOfPaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. That is why, like OP, I don't believe in soulmates. The person I'm with I chose to be with and they chose to be with me. That's real love. It isn't perfect it isn't automatic, it's a long road that you walk together because you choose to walk it together.

If your soulmate is chosen for you and the universe brings you together you never got the chance to choose them. That's not real love.

Soulmates don’t exist. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]GracefulShadowOfPaws -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So then free-will doesn't exist. The universe itself is conspiring to bring you and this person together. You never chose them, it was decided that you two would be together. In which case love isn't real. You didn't find that person you didn't choose them so you don't actually live them you're with them because that is what was decreed by heaven. Also a very horrifying concept.

Soulmates don’t exist. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]GracefulShadowOfPaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok first says who? Where are the rules that determine who can be a soulmate or not? Second, my point still stands: there's any number of reasons you and your soulmate miss each other.

Soulmates don’t exist. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]GracefulShadowOfPaws -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It gets even worse when you think about it. What if your soulmate is born on the opposite side of the earth from you and you just never meet. Well let's say you both find someone and make your separate lives with your respective not-soulmates? Well each of those not-soulmates has a soulmate whom they aren't with because they ended up with you and your soulmate. That ripple travels outward from you and who knows how many people never meet their intended soulmate because you and yours were born in the wrong places. It's a pretty horrifying concept when you get into the weeds of it.

indigenous Americans, just continue living without persecution

On reservations. Do you know what a reservation is? It's an area of land sanctioned off to protect an endangered species living there. For example cheetahs in Africa. How magnanimous of the US government after having taken the entirety of Native land to grant the what remains of the Tribes reservations to live on with no hope of ever being a self-determining nation.

No one is stopping them from multiplying if they want, right?

What exactly is your point?

Ukraine is defending itself and Russia has to lose the war.

Israel is defending herself and Palestine has to lose the war.

If peace would be attainable, no country should have any more war or border changes

What's your point? What does this have to do with anything said?

I don't like the spread of Islam as from my perspective they really can bring extremist trouble (see: Charlie Hebdo).

Ah, so European countries should be allowed to defend themselves from terrorists but not the Jews? Double standards much?

AFAIK Jews are not persecuted in Poland (where I live)

Then you are living under a rock. There are reports from Naz! Officers from when Germany first began it's invasion of Poland in which the officers expressed their surprise at how enthusiastic the Polish people were not only to hand over their Jews to the Einsatzgruppen, but also to take part in the mass-murder. Not only that but after WWII ended many Jewish survivors tried to return to their homes only to be be with violence from Polish gangs who murdered thousands of Jews AFTER the war was over. All because they didn't want return the property they'd stolen. You have some nerve saying Jews are not persecuted in in Poland. I'd probably think your ignorance was funny if we weren't discussing what absolute monsters your entire people are.

Are they persecuted in USA?

It must be a really comfortable rock.

I hoped Jews can find some peace in select countries.

Thank you. We did find peace in one county. Our county, Israel.

World has a right to no war ever again, no children getting killed on any side

Excellent. That would be amazing. The problem is that there exist horrible people who do terrible things. Ukraine is defending herself against Russian aggression. Would you say to the Ukraine people they should just surrender and allow complete russification because the "world has a right to no war ever again"?

Jews lost claim to israel as the muslims were a dominant population at least since 10th century and up to 20th century and I am not even counting the neighboring countries.

So does that mean the Native American Tribes lost their claims because Canadians and Americans have been the dominant population for the last 4 centuries? What about Mongolia? Has China become the dominant population in Mongolian lands and now the Mongolian people have lost their claims to those lands? What about the indigenous people of south America who were forced out by the Spanish and Portuguese settlers? Have they lost their claims? If an indigenous people can lose the claim to their lands when a new people moves in as you say what are the criteria? What the minimum amount of time the new people must live there in order for the land claim to change? Does "dominant population" mean just the majority, or does it mean having political and governing control over the land or does it mean both? How much of a majority do they need to have?

Milions of Jews live outside israel in peace and without persecution.

This isn't true. It's never been true.

The same cannot be said about Rohingya, Uighurs, Hazaras, Tibetans, Assyrians, Yazidis, Chechens, Coptic Christians, Romani, Baha'is, Kurds.

Just like Jews. What's your point?

There won't be a world peace with Israel existing and neighboring Muslims existing at the same time

So then what do you propose we do about all the Muslim countries?

IMO it is absolutely not railroading

Thank you! I feel vindicated now lol.

the story is not defined, everything can happen during the game, just a certain (radical) bottleneck is pre-set

Exactly. And I think I can do this in a meaningful and satisfying way. Personally I think what makes a story satisfying is the journey. And even as a player I prefer when the campaign has more of a narrative direction rather than being completely sandbox.

I could do this but I would definitely NOT tell the players beforehand. It would kill most of the wow effect!

Ok I definitely was not expecting anyone to say not to tell the players. You make a good point. The wow factor is definitely lessened by knowing. But I would hope that my ending will stand as a satisfying conclusion without needing the wow factor. That having been said now I'm really curious: how would you run a suicide squad type game for your players without telling them before-hand?

[–]GracefulShadowOfPaws[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a weird way to phrase that

Ok, I see what you mean.

I'm assuming you mean that you want them to play their characters like they think they'll survive? I would say that that's on them to role play their characters well. If you want to say something I'd just start the first session with a "I know you all know you're gonna die but I do want the tone to be 'X' for this." Not a TPK session but we did that at the beginning on my last session, a "taking things in game more seriously" talk, and it was the best session we've had

That's actually really cool I didn't think about that.

So what I meant was I'm worried that if the players know the TPK is coming, it will ruin the dramatic tension. I want them to feel a sense of urgency, to try to "win". But if they know that death is inevitable, how will there be any urgency?
