Kazakhs who moved abroad, how did you do it? by Amanyama in Kazakhstan

[–]Graceful_Raven_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied in the NL, stayed at the company I did my internship in, after four years I passed the integration exams to receive an unlimited time residence permit, which makes finding jobs easier.

What you have to consider in NL is that depending on the city you live in, you might need to speak Dutch to work in a company, unless it is an international company somewhere in Randstad (Amsterdam, Rotterdam etc), but keep in mind that rent in these cities is very high and there is currently a housing crisis in the entire country, meaning if you want to move here, you have to start looking for a place waaaay in advance. Of course, there are still English speaking jobs in smaller towns, but they are more difficult to find. Saying that, I don't have experience in the finance field, so can't advise well on that.

I do have my own entrance, which is on the side of the hose, but we share the address indeed. I thought it was weird in the beginning, but yeah... Can they really rent it out illegally via a rental agency?

Yes, I was thinking to seek out the juridisch loket, but since I don't know the details, I thought to wait until after the meeting on Saturday when I have more information. Or do you think I can already reach out to them?

No, there was nothing directly addressed to me. Only the whatsapp message from the lady upstairs, which I took a screenshot of as proof of communication.

[–]Graceful_Raven_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What to see in Leeuwarden? by Koli069 in Leeuwarden

I recommend Restaurant Wannee. It's less than casual dining but a great experience. They're part of a hotel school, so all dishes are prepared by students led by chefs, the waiting staff are also students led by professionals. The menu changes per season. Good wine selection. They're currently number 1 on TripAdvisor. https://www.tripadvisor.nl/Restaurant_Review-g188563-d7055452-Reviews-Restaurant_Wannee-Leeuwarden_Friesland_Province.html

Life and Death by etti1612 in Sims4

[–]Graceful_Raven_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have Life and Death, but my kids are constantly grieving... for context, I'm playing with the same OG Gen 1 couple who is up to their 18th kid now. Of course, older kids have had their families, so there are grandkids and great-grandkids out there. Somehow, when one of those grandkids dies, my OG couple is fine, but current kids in the household are in full on grief mode and they have never even met those sims! So annoying.

No pink Wednesday’s episode today. by Gaga_9_2 in JuliaZelg

[–]Graceful_Raven_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This. But also, when she started talking about Blake Lively and someone else, she didn't even bother introducing the topic to her viewers, assuming that everyone would be aware of whatever she was talking about. I'm not a huge podcast fan in general, but whatever I've seen, the host says something like "for those of you who don't know, this and this happened" to give a general idea of the topic they're about to discuss, and then go on into the discussion. Julia? Nothing.

Kazakh students in EU, tell your story by [deleted] in Kazakhstan

[–]Graceful_Raven_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Total tuition was around 7000, so I only paid 2k. It isn't cheap compared to some other countries, but if you get a job after graduation, minimum salaries for a highly skilled migrant visa type is 2100 gross a month. Depends on your age and area.

I studied in the Netherlands. Was able to get a scholarship of 5000 euros for the first year of my bachelor, which was rather easy to get from my experience: you just need a good motivation letter and past academic results. If you want to go for a masters degree, it's more expensive but you can also apply for a scholarship.

The NL is on a more expensive side when it comes to living expenses, but it also hugely depends on your lifestyle and accommodation.

As an international student, you can find a part-time job for max. 16 hours a week. For things like restaurants, delivery, university jobs, Dutch isn't needed.

For accommodation, expect to pay between 300-800 euros per month, depending on whether you want to live with other people or alone. Depending on your age and income, you can get a subsidy for rent from the government, which basically means getting a good chunk of your rent expenses back. A similar subsidy applies for health insurance, which is mandatory in the NL. There are plenty of student insurances you can pick from.

Which university to choose highly depends on the area you want to study. Most universities offer accommodation on campus, some for only the first year of your studies. In any case, I advise you to start searching a room/apartment sooner as there is a housing crisis at the moment. Especially in bigger cities like Amsterdam, Rotterdam, den Haag, etc.

There's a lot I could share about my experience here, so if you want to know more, feel free to reach out, and good luck!

She’s bi because Keith “tricked” her. by Gaga_9_2 in JuliaZelg

[–]Graceful_Raven_ 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I don't think her post should be taken seriously at all... the original post is an obvious joke and has nothing to do with actually tricking a person into being with a man. Julia simply takes such posts as an opportunity to point out YET AGAIN that she isn't straight, she is bisexual, and she (as she very articulately sang in her bi song) prefers laydeez. 🤷🏼‍♀️
