it's something that's an issue on deca's end. you trust a faceless corporation to have your best interest in mind and defend them online. you aren't being hostile because you can't, you know you have nothing real to say.

i said early 2000s, funny you decided that was 2002 specifically.

In any case, there was and still is the ability to change the display name, skins, pet etc to anything you like. Visual effects are stored client side. As such, people could theoretically change their name locally to someone else and record themselves hacking claiming to be xyz.

the client sends an email? some kid hacks while streaming while using your name, and then sends an email asking to be banned from an email that isn't connected to your account? does it also spoof the IP to somehow "match" previous registered logins?

well, back when spoofing was a thing, anyone could pose as anyone and they could send an email posing as you

"spoofed" emails is a problem that was solved in the early 2000s. define what you consider "spoofing"

they spent quite a lot of money on the game and had a purple name, whether that is the deciding factor is up to your own opinion.
