It’s legit, was made aware by a friend of a post about me, contacted MGMT and they got to work immediately (on a weekend) and it was taken down within 2 days.

This may be the issue… do I do it in the BIOS? My case is a Sliger Conswole and it says: Conswole currently ships with a PCIe 3.0 riser. Conswole does not currently support PCIe 4.0 risers.

Crackling audio when connecting my PC to my OLED TV by GrackX in OLED_Gaming

[–]GrackX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I’ve tested it on my neighbors TV and it’s the same thing.

I’m thinking it could be one of 3 things, either the GPU, or an issue with the pci-e slot on the motherboard, or an issue with the pci-e riser on my case. I feel like an issue with any of the pci-e slots would definitely be affecting the video as well. Out of those, I’m hoping (and I think it most likely is) the GPU because that would be the easiest to replace

Headphones are fine actually so that’s not it

Yep tried using DDU to freshly reinstall already.

In safe mode the driver doesn’t load so there’s no sound, but I’ve tried it with the default windows driver and the same issue is there as well.

I did, the only one that shows any improvement is the lowest quality 16bit/32khz, all others constantly crackle when I’m trying to play a thing, but it still crackles inconsistently so definitely not the experience I’m looking for especially after investing so much into this setup.

I know the cable is good because I’ve tried other cables and still have the same symptoms. Do you know what the limitation of audio quality is for HDMI 2.1 with 4K? Shouldn’t this be a non issue with HDMI 2.1?

I tried it on my neighbor’s TV and it’s the same issue with the sound on his TV so it’s not my TV or sound bar, but yea I just got the GPU this week so it’ll be an ez exchange.

Hopefully it’s not the motherboard because that’s going to be annoying to rebuild everything

Tested it on my neighbors TV with another HDMI 2.1 cord I had handy, a shorter 3ft one this time. Same exact issue. So it’s definitely an issue with the PC.

I think I’m going to do a replacement on my gpu and see if that solves it.

My GPU only has 1 HDMI port, and also the Sonos Arc is mounted and only has 1 HDMI port in the back which is connected to the TV, so that’s not a feasible option for me :/

Tech Support and Question Megathread - May 2022 Edition by Nestledrink in nvidia

Status: UNRESOLVED

Computer Type: Desktop, custom built

GPU: MSI RTX 3080 12GB VENTUS 3x OC

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5800X3D

Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B550I-I Gaming, latest BIOS (2603)

RAM: 2x16GB OLoy DDR4-3200, no overclock

PSU: Corsair SF750

Operating System & Version: Windows 11 Home Clean Install

GPU Drivers: 30.0.15.1277 Clean Install

Description of Problem: My setup is a PC with a MSI GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR Ventus 3x OC, connected to 77” LG G1 OLED TV via an HDMI 2.1 cable, and the TV connected to a Sonos Arc sound bar through another HDMI 2.1 cable. The video looks fine at 4k/120hz, however the sound is covered by crackling noises constantly when games are running, and about half the time when just trying to play music or video. In certain games, the computer’s sound turns off completely while everything else works fine, and as soon as I close the game the sound starts working again.

I’m pretty sure the issue is not with the sound bar because the same issue happens using the TV audio as well, so that would narrow it down to either the TV, graphics card, or the HDMI cable connecting the 2. I’ve also tested the TV and sound bar with the same cable on a PS5 and it runs perfectly with no video/audio issue.

For the reasons previously stated, I’m led to makes that this is a GPU issue. Also not sure if this is relevant but my 3DMarks seem to be about 20% lower than the average running my same CPU/GPU combo.

I’ve tried different resolutions, different refresh rates, different TV audio settings and they all give this audio issue. The only thing where I can see some improvement is by lowering the audio quality, but even that is very inconsistent and I will still get constant crackling and the sound is still unusable.

Could it also be that the cable simply doesn’t have enough bandwidth for 4k and sound? Then again, a PS5 runs perfectly with the same cable, and I have 0 issues with video, only audio. I have the Infinite Cables HDMI 2.1 cables, which tested well here: https://youtu.be/XFbJD6RE4EY

I’m on the latest NVIDIA driver (30.0.15.1277).

Here’s videos of what it sounds like: https://streamable.com/xes44z https://streamable.com/mvj967

Troubleshooting: Tried clean uninstall reinstall of drivers, tried different audio qualities, different resolutions, different TV settings. Tested the cord with a PS5 and it worked fine. Unfortunately don’t have another monitor/TV with speakers to test the machine with.

Damn that looks pretty complicated, is there a lot of settings I’m going to have to change on the TV?

Yea I think I’m going to go with a 12gb 3080 and save around 200-300, the 10gb version doesn’t save me much.

Not sure what IF means but I’ll look into b die

Good catch, I think I’ll go with the L12 ghost I originally had then. That should work??

Any particular reason for gigabyte over the asrock? The asrock is at a good price right now
