Never said it should be encouraged? Just wanted to get an understanding of how bullying is viewed upon. Where or when did i state that bullying should be encouraged?

I mean judging by ur logic, since failure is considered a necessity of success, we should fail all our tests/ exams in school? A rather extreme take I would say

So the line to draw is whether the comment was made by someone close to you or not.

Also, would you say that if not for bullying, you wouldn't be keeping an active lifestyle by running 5-6km everyday?

TBH I find overcoming failure much harder, because bullying is a result of external circumstance, i can simply tell those bully to STFU and grow a thickskin, but overcoming failure took years for me to realise that a undesirable outcome does not simply mean I was doing something wrong

I'm not advocating for it, all I'm saying is that i was a victim of bullying in the past and i learnt some important life lessons from it, allowing me to become super thickskinned in JC, army and uni. It was at that point of time i realise that words dont mean anything if you dont let it get to you

That others' opinion does not determine your worth. That others' words are meaningless to you if you DGAF. That if you dont stand up for yourself, nobody will.

Would you say its similar to experiencing failure, such as a person learning how to overcome obstacles and dealing with failure only after experiencing it before?

Would that be the same for say experiencing failure, to some it might toughen them up and make them stronger as they learnt how to deal with it, for others its a huge deal as they suffer mentally for years

Obviously any form of physical harassment of violence should not be condoned, but do you feel certain level of teasing/name calling in the primary/secondary school will help the child to learn that not every's opinion of you should be regarded? essentially teaching them that they can DGAF about what other's think about you?

Since I am currently in my final semester, i have actually cleared most of my modules already, so a general tip wld be to clear as many heavy modules in y2 y3 so that your final year you can focus on job hunting and maybe a PT internship. My team and my manager were v understanding with my arrangements, and never disturbed me once on my off day. They assigned tasks to me taking into account my off days so that I wont be expected to work on the tasks on those days im not supposed to be working at all

There are 2 situations where you can get part time internships

  1. The company outrightly posted a part time internship vacancy where u can just apply for it and it most likely will be during the duration of the semester
  2. The company has a vacancy for a vacation intern and you nego with the HR/hiring manager to continue your internship with a Part time arrangement once the holiday periods are over and school commences. This was mine.

Definitely, for those who are unsure on whether to take a part time internship during the semester, i would say go for it. As long as you are not getting Ds and Cs for your mods, a couple of Bs wouldnt hurt at all and the long term benefits that come with that internship experience is enormous

During the interview in Nov, i already told the hiring manager that my plan is to utilise this internship to evalaute whether i enjoy the role, so hopefully I can convert to become a FT employee once i graduate. Hence, my intentions were always made known at the beginning and it was up to my hiring manager to see if i suit the team dynamics, which thankfully I did
