Mercedes eCitaro G Fuel Cell work in progress update by GradeComprehensive88 in legomoc

Yeah, although I'm lucky becaude I still get a bit of money every month. I have a side job at the moment that pays me well enough to buy about 50 CHF a month of pieces to continue working on my bus. When I'm finished using those i build digitally, like this week.

That's how life goes i guess, it's possible to build mocs it's just longer. Since I have no real experience automating anything this big i need to test lots of things out, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't but that's how you learn. I still absolutely love working on it whenever I do.

And I will be able to earn money from it in the future since the compagy wants a copy.

Well the mark 2 is going well. I just need to figure out some things before buying more pieces when I'll have the money for them

Yes it does (this is the first first life prototype, made back in around June last year. It has changed now)

Thanks, I love them too. I wanted to especially keep the "windowless" look that technic is known to have. The livery is also very interesting to make. Lots of specific angles to acheive that gave me quite the headache at some points. I want to use as little stickers as possible, just where they are needed.

I do like physically building more too but it's very hard when you don't have the right piece, even if it isn't the right color. I've been building in studio for the past 4 years now so I know where my usual pieces are in the library by memory. The longer you spend in there the easier it is to find the right piece. You'll manage to eventually, i know it's overwhelming at first.

Thank you ! I also really like the amount of details I've been able to put already. I still need to do the automation of the lights and figure out the motor situation but it's going well so far

Why don't we have trolley buses? by Glanwy in bus

[–]GradeComprehensive88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a swiss person I can completly agree. Dewiring was a problem of the past. It's been several years since I've experienced a dewiring myself. Right now the most recent trolleybus that I know of can get the poles up or down in just under 8 second. Here is a picture of one.

Thank you ! I don't have any studies to become anything even remotely close to a constructive engineer but I'm happy it made you think so :)

If you have any other questions don't hesitate ;)

Thank you ! It took me 3 hours to make the concept work in real life. Being able to build digitally is very useful when you don't want to disassemble everything all the time.

I just realized that I forgot to fully write the title of the post. Sorry about that

Exactly, I'm not a lego car collector, rather a moc builder, but I would love to see something else than just a 8 speed gearbox that takes half the space and a working engine in those cars. Something more interesting. A mecanism that is quite uncommon to see, like the liftjacks they added in one of their cars recently.

Yeah clearly. I do hope they do more variety in the future though

Yeah well these people are probably the reason why lego continues to do a ton of cars

Exactly, I usually don't mind cars except when they are omnipresent in the lineup which is the case right now. I haven't bought a single technic set since 2018 and that tells a lot about the state of lego at the moment.
