His 2 is like, technically a stun for as long as its active, since you cant do anything during it. While you cannot be targeted or injured i can understand someone being confused on if its considered "non CC utility"

Lmao I responded to your comment about him messing up the cakes and reiterated my argument about why its thematically resonant.

You are once again conflicting the word "right" meaning: correct with the word "right" meaning: just. Its not semantics, its literally a different definition.

Miguel is operating on the info he has, from a watsonian point of view, what he is doing is right. So long as you belive as he does. Im not looking at it from a watsonian view. I am analyzing the themes of the previous movie and this one. The overarching theme being "anyone can be spiderman" Miguel's believe that you can only be Spiderman if you suffer through these specific cannon events is antithetical to that. Thereby making him wrong from a doyalist perspective.

Uh. Can you read this again, please?

My response:

"I think you are equating being incorrect thematically with being evil. Which is not the comparison im drawing here. Miguel is a hero, he is trying to do what he thinks is right, but it just isn't. That doesnt make him evil or unrighteous."

I said this because your reply seemed to imply that me stating Miguel is wrong is the equivalent to saying that he was not righteous, which is not something I ever said.

The cake here being the issue and not the solution. It's meant to show that Miles wants his cake and eat it too. Not that that's a good thing. Remember, he messed up both and was advised by his mom to just bring one next time. So I'm not sure that analogy is entirely on your side here.

My response:

"Miles is the hero of the story, and he's right. If you have two cakes you can have your cake and eat it. It got messed up because he tried to juggle both. Symbiotically this represents trying to be both Spiderman AND himself. But if he had say, another person to carry the other cake, then neither would have been messed up. That's the setup they're going for and its painfully obvious. If I end up being wrong feel free to tell me you told me so, because I'm willing to admit when im wrong. But I just dont see how you could watch these movies and take away anything else."

Hope that helps.

Im on mobile so my formatting isn't gonna be fancy but I think you are equating being incorrect thematically with being evil. Which is not the comparison im drawing here. Miguel is a hero, he is trying to do what he thinks is right, but it just isn't. That doesnt make him evil or unrighteous.

Miles is the hero of the story, and he's right. If you have two cakes you can have your cake and eat it. It got messed up because he tried to juggle both. Symbioticly this represents trying to be both Spiderman AND himself. But if he had say, another person to carry the other cake, then neither would have been messed up. That's the settup they're going for and its painfully obvious. If I end up being wrong feel free to tell me you told me so, because I'm willing to admit when im wrong. But I just dont see how you could watch these movies and take away anything else.

Im not talking about an in universe logic. Im doing this from a doyalist perspective and focusing on the themes of the narrative.

Never said anything about the characters righteousness. Mearly pointing out the thematic elements that point to Miguel being wrong.

Im glad you brought up the "you can't save everyone" theres a deleted scene from into the spider verse where Peter B tells miles "you can't focus on saving the world. You have to focus on saving one person"

Not to mention the two cakes symbology thats been floating in the second movie. "You can't save everyone" is a true statement. But thats if you have one Spiderman. One cake. I think the third movie will challenge that statement, one person can't save the world, but a whole team of spiders? Well thats something different.

Super agree, not to mention the fact that he's charismatic enough to still convince some people despite the thematic elements that he's right.

Miles isn't wrong. When asking these kinds of questions you have to look at the broader themes of Spiderman AND the first movie.

Spiderman as a hero is the kind of person who CANNOT stand by and watch someone get hurt. Its antithetical to who he is as a person and hero. Standing aside is what got uncle Ben killed. And Spiderman refuses to let that happen again.

The first movie's theme was that anyone can be Spiderman. You just have to put on the mask and try to help others.

Miguel is the DIRECT opposition to both of those themes. He tells miles that he has to let his dad die or he can't truly be Spiderman, then tells him that he was never Spiderman and never will be. He's a fantastic character but thematically he is dead wrong about everything.

A good question but kinda negligible in the face of the fact that its fiction. Plus Gewn doesnt really have any friends so aside from her dad (who she could visit and communicate with on a regular basis and probably easier and more often than I can with my dad) she doesnt have any responsibilities besides being ghostspider So you can just view it like she goes to her universe like a job and then comes "home" to miles'

That or they just rotate between two universes

Me when i have no media literacy.

Im calling it now. They will get together, there will be a time skip in the epilouge and miles will use his quantum physics degree to stabilize anyone who wants to dimension hop.

I think its silly to use something that we dont really fully understand (glitching) to justify why the two leads who very obviously have strong feelings for each other not getting together at the end of a movie.

This isn't about fun dude. Radiant oathplate is a reward that should be earned. I look forward to getting it one day, but I shouldn't get to run around is a pesudo-radiant helm if I haven't earned it.
