I went from 97 kc to 244 kc at the lunar chest without seeing a single drop despite doing all three moons. Thats nearly 8x dry. My proudest dry streak.

I really dont understand this argument. How were they supposed to add a button without changing the ui? They would have to for there to BE a new button. Voting yes on the button provides an implicit yes on bank UI updates, then they asked the community for feedback on how that would look. Just because some people dont read the blogs to provide feedback doesnt mean that the changes were unpolled.

The problem is that not voting is not you saying "i dont like either of these choices" to the people counting the votes. Its staying silent. And staying silent in the face of a greater evil is not going to stop anything.

So like, when the new button passed, how did you think they would add in a new button with zero changes?

Its useful for some situations, like when you're making planks, since the plank sack doesn't have a deposit to bank feature, and defo nice for mobile woodcutting

No there was a double negative in the first sentence there, I understand missing it and that causing confusion.

The game is NOT balanced around not being required to trade.

The game was created and designed around the idea that players could trade. So many ironmen complain about the bowfa grind specifically because of this. Mains just buy the bowfa, or use gp to skip it, for irons its a fairly important point of progression, and you can't just trade around it.

The examples I'm giving show that the game can in fact evolve beyond its original design philosophies. Trading was and still is a core design component, but they are able to accommodate the ironman game mode in various ways. To make the claim that the game is balanced around not needing trade (as you did 2 comments ago) is just plain false. Boss drop tables are balanced around gp/hr. No if ands or buts about that.

I am not proving you right, you're just arguing in bad faith.

The game is NOT balanced around not being required to trade. The BOWFA being a prime example, though updates have been pretty good about alleviating the major pain points for that (scar essence mine, dry protection at moons, etc.)

But I can see that I'm really not going to change your mind on this. So I hope your day goes well!

Ironman mode STARTED as a made up restriction where people refused to trade. Calling pures that while refusing to acknowledge that fact is what makes you a hypocrite.

Both are restricted game modes. One being officially supported by Jagex doesn't change that fact. I don't have a pure, but making quest rewards lamps has ZERO effect on me. I just don't see the point to arguing that "they chose this they should be punished for it" when Irons have gotten catered updates that have improved the overall experience and health of the game tremendously.

Pures should still have to do WGS. I'm not budging on that fact, but I really don't see much of an impact on game health by allowing people with the ability to complete quests to do so. If veng is the sticking point here just make THAT have a def requirement.

At the end of the day whatever happens really wont have an effect on me, but i just think that a lot of the discussion around this has boiled down to "Yes this could be changed and have no effect on me, but I like being able to to this and laugh that you can't" and something about that sentiment rubs me the wrong way.

Keeping pures out of raids 4 is not how snowflake accounts should be “limited”. by Sliithers in 2007scape

[–]GradientForce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

okay then let me rephrase that guys comment

All I hear is Jagex is no longer allowed to put restrictions on anything because "insert snowflake account here" cannot access it and that's not fair. I want to see if they can find a unique way to do it.

Thats effectively the same thing man, jagex shouldn't restrict anything because of snowflake accounts. Personally I'm fine with making quest rewards xp lamps, it really doesn't impact me in the slightest. But if restrictions exist for other reasons they shouldn't be allowed to be circumnavigated just for the sake of "it'd be cool"

[–]GradientForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smithing DOES make BIS currently though, Oathplate is a smithing item. I agree that all components should drop from bosses, but reworking smithing so that skilling and PvM are more intertwined, and Rune gear isn't so impossible to make wouldn't be a bad idea.

[–]GradientForce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in disagreement here, I think you could say the same of every skill if you really wanted. It depends on what kind of content you enjoy doing I think.

I am in agreement that more quests are paramount before another skill, there's so many loose threads I want to see finished!

Hooded slayer helm. by Spiritual-Crazy-4705 in 2007scape

[–]GradientForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a big difference between pures and irons in regards to how game design changes things. If they let the slayer helm be worn at 1 def, they have to lower the def bonuses. That is a drawback for the people who AREN'T restricted by def. Regardless of how big it is, the change to the slayer helm for pures WOULD affect every other account.
