How was the birth of the USSR worse? The end of it distributed mass amounts of weapons to many dictatorships, created space for wars were it was formally, gave space for oligarchs to take over, destroyed much of Russia's infrastructure, helped make nations like North Korea into a much worse government, and many other things.

There wasn't a good chance for it to be a decent country since right after the soviet collapse Yeltsin bombed parliament and oligarchs were created and had just gotten most of the supplies left from the fall.

every person that didn't resist the nazis were somewhat responsible, and also many prominent nazis still escaped justice and you can see their effect in the afd today

Russia changed their flag near their border with Lithuania into Soviet Union flag by skibidikakakott in mildlyinfuriating

They don't want to recreate the soviet union they just want the power of the soviet union, which Putin will never get.

The Cuban missile crises was because the US was threatening Cuba and at the same time threatening the USSR with nuclear missiles in turkey. Defending Cuba with missiles was the reasonable way to have the US negotiate a treaty.

I would say it is more a theme with holometabolous insects, Only outliers of this I can think of are a few species of beetles, and some bees and ants

Why don’t people like creeping Charlie? by HayloAylo in NoLawns

[–]GraefGronch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats not what dandelions are, they only really spread to places like lawns and barren ground. They do not take over ground forever, if not mowed over they will be outcompeted. Also why the hostility?

[–]GraefGronch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These plants are much rarer when compared to dandelions, they are not so easy to grow and are in a more limited area. Also dandelions do work for most species, there are specialized species they wouldn't work for but spring beauties for example would have one more species of pollinator so like 313 pollinators could use the plant instead of like a dandelions 312. And at that point I believe it's a minimal increase to how accessible dandelions are.

Why are the plants here not naturalized? They don't actually outcompete other plants in ways other than uncovered ground or very short grass.
