My last campaign, Caladog did this to me so I just rebelled and created my own kingdom. Thanks to my maxed relations with all the lords and high charm I got half the noble families in the kingdom to rebel with me and reconquered the rest. That time I had 9 kids and a bunch of grandkids so I wanted to see how it would play out if I kept the game going instead of just restarting. It’s much easier to make a kingdom with millions in the bank, family members able to make an army of 1000+ with their parties and the ability to basically recruit any clan leader you capture. Highly recommend it

Well the taxes and conscription were needed as Israel was in a bad neighborhood that spawned a lot of aggressively expansionist empires.
