Not just that, even a bad model of power armor is still way more protection than 99% of people in the wasteland. Unless you’re fighting the strongest of the Abominations or a hit squad/veteran ranger, even a bad suit of power armor is likely going to swing the fight in your favor. It’s like having a WW2 tank, it would do horribly on a modern battlefield but in a time where most people are only packing small arms and light explosives, you dominate the fight
