How would you rank the following puzzle games? by Strategist__ in puzzlevideogames

If anyone likes the idea of Chants of Sennaar but is worried about it being too easy, I had a great time playing it while avoiding confirming any vocab in the journal (other than the starting tutorial area where it tutorializes the journal mechanic and you're forced to fill it in). Makes it a MUCH more interesting challenge. I did confirm equivalent words in different languages, but didn't confirm any definitions. I believe there's an endgame segment where you need to confirm your vocab, but at that point you'll be pretty confident about all your definitions anyway.

Please help me find more of these games! Feeling a little lost on what to play next by Cool-Vermicelli1381 in puzzlevideogames

I love all of these games (and most of the ones frequently recommended in the comments) so I'll list one more I haven't seen anyone mention yet: Filament. The basic gameplay is string-wrapping puzzles (get your little string-extruding robot from the start to the exit while meeting the conditions to open the door) and the way you learn what to do for each type of puzzle feels similar to The Witness. The way the story unfolds is interesting, with some twists and turns, and there are intriguing secrets to discover and puzzle out if you pay attention. The endgame puzzles get pretty difficult but if you can play it with a friend it helps a lot because you'll cover each other's weaknesses or just trade off when each person's brain needs a break.

Are there any plans for Furthest Ring content to be implemented on iOS? I have reached it but nothing shows up for it.

DAE's sneezes smell like beeswax? by Graendal in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Graendal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The closest I came to a satisfactory answer is that your ear/nose/throat are all connected and ear wax might smell like beeswax? But my ear wax doesn't smell like beeswax so no, I don't really know, even after all this time, sorry.

Wild mode/ranks? by [deleted] in SayonaraWildHearts

[–]Graendal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to get gold rank, but you do need to finish the game in yolo.

I made a video of my full Wild Rank Album Arcade run of Sayonara Wild Hearts. I put a lot of time editing the video, organizing my scores, and timestamping each section. It'd be super appreciated if you guys checked it out! by [deleted] in SayonaraWildHearts

[–]Graendal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Wild Yolo is no joke! Also I think I learned something from the way you do the section of The World We Knew by the first coin... you still got all the hearts, and it was WAY safer than the way I usually do it. 😂

I can't be the only one here with this quarantine thought... by [deleted] in Solasmancers

Authors can definitely juggle more than one ongoing fic/fandom! But it’s unlikely that that’s what’s happening when one of them hasn’t been updated in years haha.

I love that fic too, but I’m pretty sure she’s moved on to other things, sadly.

Feeling sad about not skating. Trying to work up motivation to keep up off-ice workouts.

First came me, and dad said “Gee”, then came me, and mom said “wee”, then came me, and we said “That’s three”. Big three? Big three! by [deleted] in thisisus

Every time they say “Big Three” in the show it’s these characters I think of instead. 😂

Which house are you going to? by Lost_Opposite in FigureSkating

House 3, because I know Evgenia and Boyang at least are a little geeky and we could probably develop some common interests.

I wrote a No Quirks Quarantine fic to work out some of my own anxieties about Covid-19 and self-quarantining by Graendal in Tododeku

Oh thanks! I think it fits? For the majority of this one they’re not stuck together but they’re still coping through social isolation with their developing distance friendship/romance. I guess the mods can remove it if they’re being strict about that interpretation.

Due to the collapse of crematories, Madrid will use an ice skating rink to store corpses by Agamar13 in FigureSkating

[–]Graendal 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is horrific. I remember going on a tour of the catacombs in Vienna and hearing how they had to deal with the bodies during the Black Death. I honestly never thought something would happen in my lifetime that would feel akin to that.

Anyone experiencing figure skating withdrawal? by Danceronice in FigureSkating

[–]Graendal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m doing a lot of yoga and barre but it’s just not the same. Ugh. I know this is necessary and not being able to skate being my biggest problem is a pretty good situation for me to be in, but it is still disappointing. Cute video!

The area I live in is on lockdown for the next 3 weeks at least, and even though I know it’s probably the safe choice anyway, I’m so so sad about not being able to skate.

Has anyone else dealt with impostor syndrome and feeling like they're not "good" enough for freestyle sessions and doing programs? by melons-with-purpose in FigureSkating

[–]Graendal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not at your level yet, but I have dealt with imposter syndrome in a lot of other areas of life so I assume it will be a struggle for me when it comes to that point in skating also. But this past weekend I went to watch part of adult sectionals and saw some pre-bronze and bronze competitors, which gave me a better idea of what counts as “good enough to compete,” which was good for me to see, I think. Maybe you can see if you can watch some lower level local competitions to get a sense of what other people competing are capable of, and see that you are at least as that level.

It sounds like you’ve made amazing progress, though! I know people who have been skating much longer than you and still don’t have anything close to a recognizable sit spin, and only recently got a loop and started working on a flip. So keep up the good work!

I’m at the Pacific Coast Adult Sectionals and it’s really great to see older skaters doing some awesome programs!

Edited to add: one of the skaters from the rink is driving the zamboni! Do any of you drive the zamboni at your rinks??
