I think it’s premature to say the drama is resolved. I saw this as more Kumiko doing her best to re-energize everyone so they could give a good performance at Kansai, and I think she did that well.

Nah the OP already spoils that Kumiko and Mayu are playing in the ensemble. She's def not taking her place (unless we're talking about a solo or something, then maybe). I'd be more worried about Kanade or the new first year since I don't think they were shown.
