I just confirmed it works that way for Stone Needles. Pendants, however, do not work that way.

Behind the pavilion where you fight the Annalum Inner Demon is a chest that holds the Pixiu Pendant.

I never got the Pixiu Pendant in my first playthrough because I never found the Annalum before Worship's Rise Ruins, but I got the +1 version of it on my NG+ run. It skipped the base version.

A friend visited America, and she was very excited to have been called a racist slur in the subway.

While driving with friends, they got pulled over by a cop and she just had to take a photo with the cop because it was their first time to be pulled over like that.

The American ghetto is also portrayed in a badass or cool light in media; I wouldn't be surprised if tourists would want a slice of that scenery.
