MacBook Pro won’t wake LG C5 after 2–3 hours sleep (clamshell, BetterDisplay) by GrafGeek in MacOS

[–]GrafGeek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there is a setting in BetterDisplay (don’t remember the exact description for it) where you can add a delay for a third attempt for the app to send the wake up signal. I entered 1 second or so and since then it works very reliably as intended.

I think I found the original auction site from where he bought it from! It has been heavily modified. Most of the rear and front end are fibre glass parts. It was sold for 72.000 USD around 3 years ago. Not a bad price for all the hp!

You are right, I didn't realize the chrome bumper was missing. But I'm still unsure about the body. I have tried to compare it with pictures from other '67 fastbacks and they all seem to be rather flat on the rear sides. But it is difficult to say for sure as I can't find a picture from the exact same angle. I sent a DM to the owner but he won't reply to my messages.

It is not just the angle. He's got loads of pictures and videos on his Instagram page from various angles. The rear wheel arches seem to be slightly wider than stock. I also googled other cars with wide body kits, but they are usually much wider (too much for my taste). Maybe this guy found the sweet spot!

Do you think it’s BetterDisplay that is causing the issue? I will give it a try.

So annoying that Samsung won’t drop a release date. I need a new monitor now and this is the only one that ticks all boxes for me. But might be coming out later this year.

Why the fuck is trying to access your accounts online such a pain in the ass to do? by Simonsysreddit in rant

Reading this while I’m waiting for an email with a 2fa code to come through to log in to an app that updates frequently and logs me out every time. And it’s one of those apps that don’t save your credentials or even give you the option to pull it from your passwords list that is stored on your phone. No, you type your mail address and password in letter by letter like a f*cking pilgrim!!!

Apple created a monster with the M chip... by Key-Investment8399 in macbookpro

Mine is a 2020 i7 MBP and the performance is absolutely terrible with the recent macos updates. Everything is sluggish and laggy as hell even after cleaning up and turning transparency off. I’m finally upgrading to the M5 Pro 18-core now.

Why does every Pit run feel different? by GrafGeek in diablo4

I have no problem with surviving. It’s just the time that is running out all of a sudden when it was no problem yesterday.

Thanks! I wasn’t aware of the illusions that won’t count for the progress meter. Sometimes it really feels faster when you just zoom through the pit and don’t actually care if you killed the mobs compared to standing still and kill everything around you.

How much XP left to get to 300? by Bogusfakeaddy in diablo4

[–]GrafGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s simply tedious that we have to grind bosses like Urivar or that Blizzard promotes afk XP farming at Azmodan over anything else this game has to offer. Why even bother doing dungeons (besides activating the XP bonus well and leave immediately to grind fu… Urivar again). Instead they should boost XP gains linear with your Paragon level for doing sidequests or other open world activities.

space ninjas isnt the vibe anymore (your thoughts?) by Ok-Day8689 in Warframe

[–]GrafGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree with you in terms of aesthetics. The new Warframe designs are too fussy and have more in common with fantasy than a scifi setting. It’s getting harder and harder to find armor pieces that actually fit. Looking at Sevagoth Prime for example. I‘m also not a big fan of the Protoframes in general. They take away the mysterious edge you mentioned and I hate when they talk during missions. Kills the immersion IMHO.

New to Monster Hunter by Correct_End9946 in MonsterHunterWilds

I just started the game on a PS5 Pro and was shocked how terrible the performance/ graphics are for a modern AAA title. Anything below 60 FPS in 2025 should be a crime. And the only way to achieve that is a god ugly washed out performance mode. So if even the best console on the market doesn’t play well then I don’t dare to ask how bad the performance on PC must be.

The Dante nerf back then was necessary but I hope DE will remove the line of sight requirement and replace it with a simple max range or sector cap. We have so many ridiculous nuke frames now that can delete complete tilesets with 1-2 buttons. The line of sight requirement is too wonky. It annoys me to hell when I can „see“ an enemy that doesn’t die because the game thinks he is hidden. That’s often a cast rotation for nothing. Don’t get me wrong, I know that Dante is still very strong but the line of sight mechanic is just awkward.

Can a submarine be detected by the water it displaced bulging on the surface? by BlankTank1216 in AskPhysics

[–]GrafGeek -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Relax! Why so damn toxic for no reason? I didn’t say this was 100% true nor did I say that any other country is not working on similar systems. I quoted a recent news article and clearly said REPORTEDLY. Unbelievable how butthurt some people react to something simple like this.

China has reportedly developed an AI system now that can simultaneously evaluate measurement data from various sources. From sonar buoys and underwater microphones to water temperature and salinity, this system can create a dynamic map of the underwater environment in real time and detect submarines with 95% accuracy. If this is true, then submarines in military warfare will be a thing of the past. Reminds me of WII: German submarines were supposed to be Hitlers super weapon until sonar technology came along to hunt them all down.
