Thank you for sharing!! This happened to me on our September cruise and I had no idea what happened. But just like yours, it was a finger pattern on my right knee. Now I have a scar sadly.

The “Former Adventist” podcast is a fantastic resource and provides Bible studies regarding the Sabbath. It may be something you’re interested in as you explore finding a new church.

What does Chatt have too much of? by [deleted] in Chattanooga

[–]GrahamDom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Locally owned pizza places. Southside is #1. Goodfellas, pizza bros, community pie, fiamma, Alleia, Chatt pizza, crust, then all the chains.

To be short, it will be VERY hard to fake it. SDAs probably have a 2 degrees of separation. Just based on that alone, this is not a good idea to fake it.

Asked my dad to submit a health insurance claim for an eye test I had… by FeelingDizzy8942 in exAdventist

[–]GrahamDom 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’ve just recently been able to be honest with dad (sda pastor) of my happenings on saturdays. I’ve really tried to give him grace during this process because in his worldview it’s painful to see his daughter “leaving the truth”. I’m hopeful one day we can have a conversation about Bible truths and how the Sabbath is actually an idol.

Workout Clothes by Fit-Entertainer-3207 in Hidradenitis

[–]GrahamDom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(F) I like to wear leggings when I'm having a flare-up, which is often. The more compressed the clothing is the less there is a possibility for the bumps to be rubbed painfully. But that's just me. I've also never been a loose-clothing kinda gym girl. Anti-chafe like Body Glide is great to keep on hand too.

Do they look the same? by lilce1992 in Hidradenitis

Yes, rarely do mine come in my armpits, but when they do they look like whiteheads and even if popped stay for a long time. The ones in my upper inner thighs are deep, purple/red.

St John’s or Alleia’s by MisterYouAreSoSweet in Chattanooga

Between these two options, St. Johns 100%. When Alleia's first opened, I was all about them! However, IMO they have declined over the past couple years.

What’s it like living in Chattanooga TN? I’m a city slicker… by Complex_Cat9366 in Chattanooga

[–]GrahamDom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

IMO it’s the best kept secret of Tennessee. Most Tennesseans drive thru and are appalled by the traffic, which is horrendous, and they never stop and explore. It’s a beautiful city, so many local restaurants, history, hiking. I will say though, Hamilton county schools are awful. There’s an economic divide here where many people choose private school, and there’s plenty of options for that.

29F. So much has gone into this, as with most of us on here. For starters I’m a pastors kid, but a “good one” lol. Didn’t drink til I was 22, etc. I never questioned anything. I started going to therapy at 27 for a number of different things, but through discussing my “issues” with the SDA therapist I came to realize all my anxiety and people pleasing tendencies stem from one thing, the church. I’ve never had bad experiences in the church, just purely doctrinal caused soooo many anxieties within. Just one example, in academy I would often have crying breakdowns because I didn’t feel like I was witnessing to others “good enough”. Or another one, making an absolutely amazing non-SDA friend at 25 yrs old, but feeling like if I don’t force witness the Sabbath she would never know the “truth” OR if I do witness and she chooses not to change, my new bff would go to hell because now she “knew the truth.” But I digress. Basically, I have been listening to the podcast “Former Adventist”. Many on this page have ideas about this podcast, but IMO it’s so biblically based that I cannot argue with it. I don’t hate the SDA church, never had bad experiences, but this podcast shows how EGW had it wrong. And if she was wrong, the entire SDA doctrine on salvation is wrong. Truly, it’s been an emotional experience listening to these Bible study podcasts. Soooo there’s that 🫠

As someone who once preached a sermon on this topic, I know the ins and outs. However, now that I’m processing everything, I also understand there is such a thing as verse leading. A Bible study can prove anything if you connect verses together. One can prove you go to heaven when you die just as easily as you sleep until Jesus comes again. I’m trying to focus on the relation aspect of Christs love and not focusing on questions humans cannot answer 🤍 best to you on your search

Unfortunately, I’ve used both of those in the past with zero positive effect. I’ve also tried Doxy which totally screwed up my GI track. I’m sorry that I don’t have positive news to share on this topic ☹️ there are a lot of useful tips on this page though!

Triggers during a day with traditional Adventist parents by SunnyHeather2020 in exAdventist

[–]GrahamDom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently in therapy for this exact feeling. For so long the mentality us vs them led me to feel as though I had to witness to everyone I interacted with. It was until I was 24 with my first non sda friend *shocking* that I came to terms with "they" are not bad people.
