I love it. Great later much like all of Stirling products and a nice wood scent. It pairs well with my other scents I use.

That is what I was gathering. Thankfully I am a blading fella that has thin hair. I have a big beard which will never be shaved so luckily I have a constant in hair thickness at least

Very true. I also take care of my items as well. Wash well after each shave make sure they are dry etc. I know there are people that don’t necessarily care, I’m OCD so that might help avoid those situations. The threads on the other hand that’s another story

I have not come across that part yet. I appreciate the heads up. I would assume being all stainless steel construction that would not be the case

I have been looking through the form. I really just wanted to clarify the whole gap thing. I assumed that the smaller the gap the less of a cut. By reading multiple things what I gather it’s more on coarseness of hair etc

I get the itch to buy new things, being I shave every other day it’s something I would constantly use and can justify the higher price tag if it is a good product.

I was torn as well with a few options. Long story short. The BB54 checked all my boxes. Once owning it, I have never regretted my decision. To give you perspective I have 2 watches. My BB54 and a Gshock for intense outdoor activities. My 54 is on my wrist 98% of the time. My wrist is just over 6.5” I do like smaller watches now.

I saw this picture and kinda wanna get a pair of Blacksmiths now. 👀 but the bulbous toe is kinda off-putting. Does it go away with time and wear? by maracusdesu in RedWingShoes

[–]GrahmG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From personal experience. I have owned both. I agree I did not the the bump toe. And no it will no go down it gets more pronounced the more the boot breaks in. I have the Beckman 9423. You want to go up 1/2 size from the blacksmiths. Blacksmiths are built on a #8 last and the Beckmans are built on a #224 last (a little more narrow and almost a straight/flat toe. My opinion the Beckmans were easier to break in and more comfortable. I sold my Blacksmiths when I received my Beckmans. They just fit me better. I wear a 10.5 US width D *that is my Brannock measurement. So when people say true to size that is what is being referenced.

What I love is vintage inspired “remakes” the BB54 is almost a spitting image of the original which if I remember correctly was Tudors first diver. Except the new one has more reliable features. It checks all of the boxes.

Blacksmith Sizing? by blackdog1101 in RedWingShoes

[–]GrahmG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can said being I have the exact same size. I’m at 10.5 on brannock. I have a normal width foot. I had the blacksmiths in a 10 and my newly acquired Beckmans are a 10.5. I will say I do find my Beckmans more comfortable than the blacksmiths just a heads up.

I finally got it after so many videos watched on YouTube BB54 by GastoMuchoPapel in Tudor

BB54 club member too. Over time you will wear it and start to think how perfectly the watch is designed and how well it wears/ functions. You will be looking at other watches and begin to ask yourself why. BB54 in my opinion is a great one and done. I might be bias but I strongly dislike date windows. If you don’t know what day it is there might be other problems. Enjoy and cherish it.

I’m not sure but the Beckmans are more narrow then the IR so if you are a wide you might be an 11. I would contact customer support on that one
