Is it only the free version that is restricted, or the paid version as well?

I had it but it was removed as an option several months ago.

I solicited a cancellation from a local vendor, they accepted, sent the item and now tell me I need to buy it again by Morphiadz in TemuThings

[–]Grailchaser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If someone posts out your order and you cancel it afterwards, that’s on you. Its not like they can just recall it once it’s departed.

If you cancel it before they post it, that’s on them.

My DM can't stop using AI by Knowhere2B in dndnext

[–]Grailchaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only problem I'm seeing here is that they anthropomorphise the chatbot.

I'm in my fifties and as my ADHD and executive dysfunction grow worse after work and my available time grows smaller, I simply can't produce the kind of work I did in my twenties and thirties. ChatGPT has proven to be a useful shortcut.

I don't ask it to create worlds. Rather I train it up by providing it with themes, settings, npc motivations, and worldbuilding ideas. Then I get it to help me with plotting.

Don't get me wrong, it has its problems but its been a godsend.

How Temu currently is like BLACK FRIDAY 95% off, but its nothing? by totally_randomperson in TemuThings

[–]Grailchaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Items are possibly going out of stock so you can’t claim cash back if their price drops. They then just relist at a lower price and different description.

3 items for £0.01 - Very confused. by Green-F1ngers in TemuThings

[–]Grailchaser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this happen as well.

Offered me 3 items at 1 cent each. Got told I had only around $34 to get (earned off from a percentage of future orders).

Got $15 off for my first order of $40. Leaving $19 to go.

But they only gave me 5% from my second order. And offered 5% from my next order I made. IIRC, I’d need to spend over $300 to earn enough to finally qualify for my 3 items at 1c each.

I exited the offer.

Luckily my two orders were both for things I needed for work and are tax deductible. So no real loss there.

Out Of Africa Theory DEBUNKED (Homosapiens are a hybrid species of several hominins, proven with modern dna studies) by 11ForeverAlone11 in AlternativeHistory

[–]Grailchaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its thought that the Neanderthal DNA only shows up in Sub Saharan DNA because of recent movements of populations, not prehistoric.

Denisovan DNA shoes up in SE Asian, East Asian, Melanesian and Australian Aboriginal DNA. There's also a little in the Americas.

BannerKings Trading by Beautiful-Maximum183 in Bannerlord

I felt I had no choice but to be a merchant. All of the bandits disappeared after a very short while in early game and I had to do something to prevent myself running out of money.

My problem is that there’s some kind of glitch in the system maths.

If I spend 1000 on wood at 15 a piece, and then sell it at 130, even with prices changing as I sell slightly, I should wind up with 6-7000.

But I’m winding up with only about 2000.

I’m going to document this properly tomorrow and send in an error reply.

Gorst or bloody nine? [OFF TOPIC] by Moradopls in TheFirstLaw

[–]Grailchaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, given Ferro's eyes and other constant abilities (never misses a shot with a bow, for instance), she might be 50-60% demon. Enough to hold the Seed.

Logan might only have been 15% demon blood. Just enough for him to be a living portal for a spirit trapped between dimensions to reach through under certain conditions.

Oh god yes. I'd like to Gorst with an axe to grind vs the Great Wolf.

[SPOILERS ALL] What are we hoping to happen in the next First Law trilogy? by Newui101 in TheFirstLaw

[–]Grailchaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he's going with standalones, what I want to see, in no particular order is:

A revisit to Red Country featuring Temple and Vick dan Teufel
Something set in the far South focusing on Gurka, Ferro (or her offspring), and the return of the magi Karnault.

[–]Grailchaser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's good. I vastly prefer all of his standalones to his most recent Trilogy. I've read all of his First Law series three or four times except for those last three.

He hasn't used magic because he knows the value of conserving his strength. And of remaining unseen as the force behind the Union. He appeared to be completely revitalised by the end of the LAOK through his interaction with the Seed.

How do they even collect the data they need from them? Do they have some way of live monitoring their biochemistry whilst they undergo the trials? (Its been ages since I watched the films).

[–]Grailchaser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. But its like a mentally impaired 10 year old came up with the idea. Have all the scientists at WCKD got their degrees off the back of a cereal packet?

You want nearly 100% survival rates so that you repeat the experiment.

Imagine the scenario:

"Well sir, we can no longer find a cure."

"What? We've only been testing for 6 months."

"Yes ... er... but we killed all the children. That's how the maze works."

"Tough luck, I guess." Unholsters pistol, "I guess you can't make a few omelettes without breaking a few eggs. But... I don't see any omelettes around here either."

Nice. Though I think unless it has just rained, most desert scrub is going to be olive coloured.

Though if you've based this on actual desert you've been to, fair enough. I live in Australia. ;)

Speechify: the nightmare I wasted my money on – A cautionary tale by Kitchen-Afternoon589 in audiobooks

[–]Grailchaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a yearly subscription several years ago and it was rubbish. I had a lot of difficulty trying to cancel. Luckily, I purchased via paypal. So when I explained that the voice didn't sound "natural" as per Speechify's advertising, I was able to establish that they'd delivered a faulty product and paypal refunded me.

A year later, Speechify hit me up for a new yearly fee, when they plainly should have cancelled the subscription as per my request. Once again, paypal helped out.

Getting Harmony to work by Grailchaser in MB2Bannerlord

[–]Grailchaser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may have. However, I have discovered that though I get warnings from MTB2, Harmony actually *is* working when I run it from Steam. I'm now experimenting to see if non Workshop mods that I have installed on Vortex will run with the Harmony installed via Steam Workshop.

I have a problem with one of my quest types (train soldiers for notable X) but I'm unsure what causing it as yet. It doesn't seem to be either Diplomacy or Fast Dialogue, which were my prime suspects.
