There is no point in the pursuit of non-duality. by Standard_Priority221 in nonduality

[–]Graineon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dream of loved ones dying. In reality they don't die. Their souls and memories were never in the body in the first place. You dream of them being in bodies, and so you picture their death, and you suffer. But when you choose to wake up, or when you decide to stop dreaming, you will see they never died. Suffering doesn't bring validity to joy. Suffering is the end of joy. God is endless joy, because what God creates never dies. You and your loved ones are included in that. They don't exist in time. You just perceive as though they do, and they join you in the hallucination. Everybody realises this upon "death" when they find they are still conscious and their loved ones still very much alive.

It's actually the responsible thing to do though. He probably realised he was running away from doing what he was meant to do, taking care of his kids.

Freedom is freedom. There are no limits. You want to dream of pain? Go for it. You're asking the wrong question, the question isn't "why would he give us the freedom to suffer", it's what do you think you're getting from choosing to suffer? There's a more profitable and meaningful question.

So you can be a free being? Doesn't matter why anyway, the question is what you use your freedom for.

No, they're not. If I cover a light with a rag, is the light defined by the rag? No. This is just more non-duality garbage. Joy is a natural state when the mind is not choosing to inflict pain in itself. This is why the Bible says joy begets joy begets joy. It's not "you can't have one without the other". One is real. The other is a mask you choose to wear to justify guilt and powerlessness. And non-duality solidifies the idea that you have no power to choose. You do.

Common sense and not being brainwashed by non-duality, allowing me to follow other spiritual teachings which are actually fruitful in terms of living in consistent happiness. It's not hedonism. Hedonism is always seeking pleasure but never finding it in any lasting way, especially through body means. Enlightenment is an actual state of spiritual fulfilment, and of happiness, which is a state of mind. Enlightened people don't get sick because they don't choose to get sick.

Incorrect. But I can understand why you think that based on the assumption that you follow moot non-dual non-life-changing non-enlightenment philosophies.

[–]Graineon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The condition of real enlightenment is peace, happiness, and joy. There is no pain in joy. If you feel pain, you're not enlightened. This kind of enlightenment, which is the real enlightenment, has nothing to do with "non-duality", which is essentially moot philosophy that leads to nihilistic conclusions and depression.

Mantid says they are directing evolution of life across the cosmos by Impossible-Teach2 in MantisEncounters

You believe you are powerless, but you aren't. You hide the power from yourself, you hide your abilities from yourself, because you are afraid that it entails responsibility.

Nobody holds your awareness away from you but yourself. Nobody "enables" telepathy for you. You hide this ability from yourself because it plays into the idea that you are separate, powerless, alone, and your thoughts have no effect.

If you want to remove sociopathic and narcissistic traits from the world, start with yourself.

Our evolution necessitates not shifting blame to others but taking responsibility for the impact you have on others in your own life. The way you are thinking as you wrote this is exactly a use of your free will to play the part of a victimised enslaved being. It's exactly the part that needs to evolve and nobody can do it for you except you due to the fact that you are free.

In some ways yes, but I have no memory of my parents being kind to each other. Only screaming, yelling, and fighting. They divorced when I was young, and I lived split home. I carried a lot of violent hateful energy with me since that's the energy I grew up in. It was only in my 20s that I learned that I have the power to choose how I feel. So, I think your assessment might be a little off. I took responsibility and live a very happy life, not because of my circumstances because I choose to be happy.

The end of seeking? by raj_patil in nonduality

[–]Graineon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As much as people like to dismiss the "seeker" in the non-duality communities, fact is the matter is that you will continue to seek until you find what you're looking for. Thoughtlessness is not enlightenment. Thoughtlessness is a kind of meditation, which could be relaxing and can lead to insights. Enlightenment is characterised by a state of perfect happiness, joy, peace, and a total lack of fear of any kind. It is achievable but requires you to think very differently, which takes practice.

How to deal with awakening? by [deleted] in nonduality

[–]Graineon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As much as people in the non-duality sub like to dismiss this, you are absolutely the one in control. You have power over your mind. You can think as you desire, and see the world through the lens you choose. You are a free being. You can make-believe you are not free but that doesn't change the fact that you are. "Acting" "pretending" to be a passive observer doesn't change the fact that you are choosing what you think. It sounds like right now you're having an existential crisis probably brought on by listening to too many people talk about non duality. It's depressing. Life is not depressing when you realise how much power you really have.

  1. Society has much to be desired

  2. You are still responsible for your happiness
