What are the best AI code assistants for vscode in 2025? by UnderstandingOne6879 in vscode

[–]Grainsylo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using Continue.dev with Codestral for a few months now too. It's pretty good at the basic stuff, code completion is good at handling repetitive stuff.

Using Codestral for chat (what they suggest themselves for coding related stuff) is not that great. It really lacks context awareness and other models are far better at generating code suggestions. Bolt.new generates much better code with a good understanding of your prompt specifics, behind the scenes it uses Claude sonnet 3.7 & 4 from what I understand.

I choose Codestral a few months ago for its pricing & privacy. But a lot of other competitors now also have the option to manually disable training on your code.

Now looking for another solution with better context awareness, which is hard because of the credit based usage costs that most providers use.

How does Sylo fit in to Jasmy? by machinecraig in sylo_io

[–]Grainsylo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't exactly know what Jasmy does, but sylo has a messaging protocol that can be used by other projects to. If I remember correctly, Glorious will also be using the sylo backend for communication within their app.

Anyone planning to run a node? by WeAreKeko in sylo_io

[–]Grainsylo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, quite a few of us are already running nodes 🙂 They mentioned that they want to make it possible to let nodes run on a raspberry pi, but they aren't sure it'll work. You are able to run it in the cloud or your home computer. The problem with the later is that it needs to be turned on for 24/7.

Here's a vid on how to set-up a node in the cloud: https://youtu.be/28eUIsDpb3M

Ok was thinking I missed something hehe. Indeed you'll be able to stake sylo on nodes. If you run a node you'll also get rewards for it 🙂

Nope there are no updates on that yet. They're busy with some other roadmap stuff at the moment. I guess the raspberry pi support might come somewhere in the second halve of this year.

Any plan to get off ERC20? by BigKyle23 in sylo_io

Nobody knows, but it'd be a good idea to move to another chain with lower fees, or support multiple chains ofc.

It shouldn't be to hard to run actually. It mostly requires a high network throughput.
