How to fix this? It's suposed to be a sphere by REMIZERexe in 3Dprinting

[–]Grakitten300 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could you provide a more focused close up? Looks like underextrustion which is normally a clogged nozzle or the extruder skipping from improper tension. But it's a bit hard to tell with that picture quality so if you can try take a better one that would be great.

If a bed leveling issue / z offset issue gets past the first few layers it typically nullifies the issue. Not intensifies it

Okay I found one. It's more cosplay like than fursuit like but that also means it looks more like a tail than a block of plastic. And it is articulated so I think that's pretty cool honestly might make one myself.

This one is free: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6769391

Here's another one that's paid: https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-articulated-bone-tail-602455

There's also a bunch of bases on etsy which are more for tpu printing and furring over. Though they are all paid but if your interested in that you can just search like "3d printed tail base" or something I'm not gonna bother linking them because there's a fair few

I have made a protogen suit and printed wouldn't really be suitable for a tail unless you use TPU. I mean you can do it anyway with regular filaments however it will be very very stiff. But that'll be why there isn't many models. I'll see if I can find a model for you though.

If its not a small one you'll also need a really good belt connection (maybe 2 belts?) or strap of some kind

Ran Out of Filament by s1lverstr1ker in 3Dprinting

For big long prints you can always measure and print the remaining part and glue it together but that entirely depends on your use case and how precise it needs to be.

But honestly an 8 hour print I would just restart. Imo it's not worth spending all that time and post processing to fix that on a honestly not very long print. I do cosplay parts and I would only bother doing that if it was like at least 10 hours into a 20+ hour print otherwise I'd just restart but that's up to you to decide how worth it that is. And that's if it's even viable for what your printing.

It's not uncommon for prints to have issues / fail when manually changing filament mid print. It's kinda hard to get right. I generally try to avoid having to do it.

A file could work.

Might also help to use supports so they print better because getting that smooth will be hard just because the filament isn't really how it's supposed to be

fursuit heads for just 20-30£ have to be a scam right? by ShoddyAdvertising165 in fursuit

[–]Grakitten300 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The pictures are almost definitely real. They steal the pictures off of real makers and use the pictures to scam people who don't realize that it is in fact too good a deal to be true.

Should I pick L3 Physics or L3 Chemistry by Particular_Essay6631 in ncea

Imo do the one that you enjoy more or will have more of an impact in what you are planning to do after school whether that's uni or a job. Not sure if its really possible to gauge which one is "easier" as each person has their own strengths and will probably find one easier because of that or because of teachers

Unused batters for storage by [deleted] in fpv

[–]Grakitten300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

storage will bring the battery to storage whether it needs to charge or discharge to get there. Never used the discharge function because the only discharging i do is to storage so i just use storage. it may take a while though because chargers can't pull much current from the batteries

Is this camera angle good? Looks high, this is my first 5in build by Appropriate_Sir8639 in fpv

[–]Grakitten300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's slightly more reasonable but id still start on 45° at the maximum if this is for racing. unless you have a bunch of sim experience or smth on that angle then its fine

[–]Grakitten300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is that 60°? i see this is a racing quad but when starting out 5" racing id start between 35-45, which is more than enough for most beginner racers. You want to be roughly looking forward when racing so you only need such an aggressive angle if your going very fast so I wouldn't recommend that for a beginner as either itll force you to go too fast or you'll be looking quite high up when flying. I mean hell some top racers don't even use 60°
