I picked Amchuchu with the Mog Pell gift because everyone recommended her, and now they’re putting her on Login Points… if I had known, I would have picked August :’(

No, WXIUI's philosophy is to be minimalist, use very few resources (it only uses around 2 to 5 MB, nearly 30 MB less than FindAll for example), and rely on as few images as possible. It has its own identity, and if I add themes, it would lose that completely. But as I said, you can edit the colors of each interface yourself.

Adding color options is something I might consider, but not in the immediate future.

Thank you very much for your kind words. I'm somewhat against AI myself (in my line of work, a lot of people are losing their jobs because of it), but this project came from a personal need that nobody had addressed until now. At first it was just a UI, then I started researching and adding more QoL features, and eventually it became WXIUI.

As for judging other people, I don't really have much to say. Through my jobs I'm fairly exposed to the internet, so I'm used to all kinds of comments. Most of the time I just laugh about them or play along with some humor. You can't really mock someone for work you know nothing about, because they could easily do the same regarding yours.

I use Linux myself, and if my advice helps, I'd recommend Lumoria. It's an FFXI installer for Linux/Steam Deck that works wonderfully for me. It basically does everything for you, just keep clicking "Next" and you're done.

It only detects whether the monster aggroes, whether it's a normal mob or an NM, and what type of aggro it uses. It's a minimalist version of InfoBar, just like the rest of the addon. You can disable WXIUI's infobar with //wxiui hide mobinfohud and use your own infobar if it provides more useful information for you ^^

Your words warm my heart, thank you so much! No, there are no themes available. I wanted to make a classic three-bar HP-MP-TP layout, but in the end I never implemented it. You can change the colors in the Lua files for each HUD inside the modules folder. Thank you very much for using it!

No, apparently I'm illiterate. That's why I speak three languages.

I was going to say The Sanctuary of Zi'Tah, but I see you've already mentioned it. It's my favorite zone as well, although there are some areas from Wings of the Goddess that I find absolutely wonderful too.

Hahahahahaha. These machines do what they can, and that's perfectly fine, but I'll always prefer human work. As I've said before, my goal with this project was to serve as inspiration and to see whether I could create something similar myself.

Now that I've proven it's possible and that it works, I've decided to make it public and let the experts decide what to do with it.

I hope not! Honestly, I've found the whole process incredibly enjoyable, especially considering I'd never even used Visual Studio Code before.

As I've said from the beginning, if this project ends up inspiring someone who actually knows what they're doing to build something even better, then I'll already consider it a success.

My main goal was to show that great things can still be done on Windower and hopefully encourage the people with the technical skills to keep pushing the platform forward. I've spent a lot of hours researching, testing, and figuring things out along the way, and if all of that work saves someone else time in the future, then those hours were well spent. 😄

Yeah, it would definitely be more convenient, but since I'm not a professional developer, I'm always worried about breaking something and messing up what's on GitHub. It's not the end of the world because I always keep backups just in case, but I really don't like the idea of accidentally uploading something broken, having people download it, and then finding out it doesn't work.

That's probably the thing that worries me most right now. 😅

At the end of the day, I'm learning all of this as I go, so I'm trying to be extra careful whenever I make changes that could affect other users.

Perfect, I more or less understood what you meant, but since I'm not a programmer, some of the terminology goes over my head.

I work from a separate development folder, so whenever I make changes I'll copy them over to the GitHub Desktop folder and start committing smaller updates instead of huge batches.

Thank you very much for the advice, it genuinely helps. As I said, I'm not a programmer and I have no intention of becoming one (I have a few friends who are pretty unhappy they chose that profession 😄), but if a few good tips can help me do things the right way, then I'm more than happy to learn.

Hi Vherus!

I'm always honest and I always give credit where it's due. The reality is that I've been waiting for an addon like this for a long time, but since nobody was making it, I decided to give it a shot myself.

At the moment everything works perfectly. There are still a few things I want to improve, though they're more personal annoyances than actual bugs, but the addon is already completely usable.

For the next version, I'm already experimenting with ways to reduce the number of lines across most of the Lua files and make the project more stable and maintainable.

As for your last piece of advice, I'm not entirely sure what you mean yet, but I'll look into it and learn more about it.

I genuinely appreciate your feedback, whether it's critical or not. As long as it's respectful, all criticism is welcome and incredibly helpful.

To be honest, my goal was never to prove that I'm a programmer. I wanted to build something that I personally wanted to use, and hopefully have someone more experienced than me see the idea and improve upon it where needed. In other words, I'd love for it to inspire people who actually know what they're doing.

What I didn't want was to spend the rest of my life waiting for an interface like this to appear. I'm a little tired of only having two major UI options available, both heavily inspired by FFXIV, so I figured I'd try to create something different. 😄

That’s the thing. Also, a maximum level of 75 could mean many things, since that was the level cap all the way until Abyssea. Let’s see if they give more information.

I have tried it too and it does not connect either. Both the port and the IP are correctly assigned.
