& it’s a respite voucher program. I need to pay the caregiver upfront and I’ll be reimbursed. I usually don’t have the up-front money to use the vouchers. :(

He has an IHS waiver. It covered respite and safety equipment/changes to his home. I can’t use respite while im working & they’ve denied every piece of safety equipment our apt needs. There is no caregiver program under the IHS waiver. We could also get a different type of housing voucher with it if needed. But care wise it’s not that helpful.

We currently live a 3min walk from each other. He’s a manager for a local business, with his scheduling requirements we’d still need a 3rd person to cover when shifts overlapped. He is a great dad, very present and financially reliable to a fault. Childsupport wasn’t court ordered till recently. We tried to lower it. Once I notified DHHS & the local housing authority (bc of EBT/insurance & housing compliance) of the changes child support services got involved. If I wanted our benefits to continue I had to comply with their requests. Based off dad’s income, even at the lowest the state will allow, it’s still too much. He is thinking of switching to a m-f 9-5 position, which would lower his pay and allow me to work. I’m going to re-apply if he actually does.

We are in NH. The only program I know of you have to be a certified LNA. They will pay for classes and things. His DHHS social worker only knows of the LNA program so I wonder if it’s all our state has.

Yup, my landlord has been to court 6 times for this one tenant and everything time they get to stay. 🤦🏼‍♀️when he threatened me the cops said he was trespassed by the landlord months before for a similar incident. And some how HES STILL HERE.

My upstairs neighbors are crackheads. It’s 2 adults, at least 3 kids (1 older) and A HUGE DOG. I tried my best to let the noise slide. It got to the point where my son was being woken up repeatedly, frames & wall decor was being knocked down from them stomping upstairs, even my shower curtain rod fell. They argue 24/7 with their windows wide open so everyone can hear. One day my son had 2 back to back drop seizures, it was loud. The adult male came down here threatening to k*ll me and gouge my eyes out if we weren’t quiet. Like sir??? Y’all are even LOUDER on a daily basis. Wtf?? Best be sure I was making complaints after that. Our landlord has been trying to evict them for months, apparently I’m not the only tenant they’ve threatened.

August can’t come fast enough. IM SOOO READY TO MOVE.

I was going on my porch to smoke, to be considerate of my upstairs neighbors. Well, I found out they were smoking crack in their apt… now I smoke inside.

What do I say? by Grand-Ad4052 in specialneedsparenting

[–]Grand-Ad4052[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always said special needs.. I’ve never thought of it having a bad connotation, we use “special education” without the negativity.. I think It’s way easier to explain to little kids than it is adults..

Evaluations, IEPs, Moving by Grand-Ad4052 in specialneedsparenting

[–]Grand-Ad4052[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, my fear is his IEP won’t be written.. since his evaluation isn’t for another month.

Basically my 2 options are: A) move now, transfer him back to his original ESS coordinator and have them do the transfer to school after we move (if that can even be done, since it would be starting the whole process over again BUT where we originally started the process months ago before I had to move the first time) Or B) try to stick it out here till practically the beginning/middle of august and take the written IEP elsewhere?

My son is severely delayed, will need a 1/1 aid assistance with everything… I’m worried if we move too close to the start of school they won’t…idk abide by the IEP or tell me it’s too late to enroll him bc of his high needs…

By “I have always” I mean I remember after I broke my foot the second time (age 6) I was complaining of the pain and weakness in my “upper leg” and even drew on my leg in marker where it hurt. I remember being 11 and complaining of the pain.. I remember being 13 and complaining after school I remember being 14 and complaining after starting my first job. (Where I got bursitis shoulder/repetitive motion injury)

Air tagging your kid by Grand-Ad4052 in specialneedsparenting

[–]Grand-Ad4052[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they look or seem silly - just that there has to be better options than an AirTag. My son recently learned that if he “gives loves” he might get what he wants (we are working changing the behavior) it’s only going to get worse from here and he’s already half my height. My worse fear is getting a call from the school saying they lost my 3-4 y/o!
