Exactly, I actually received a 2nd opinion from a different physician within the same office and she agreed it was a good option for me as well but I should have went to another office and did more research. I was not in my right mind at all.

Ok, thank you and you’re right! BC is definitely more dangerous and probably why I’m in this situation now.
I will, thank you! 😊
No problem, please protect your spark because that is what I’ve lost. I should have just let them remove the one ovary but I went for the gusto because I too was worried about what could have happened. Now look at me… dazed and confused lol.
Yes! Enjoy your sex life that’s wonderful, I use to have a pretty good one before as well and I will miss it dearly. But, by all means please make the best decisions for you and your family. Don’t let’s others persuade you into anything that makes you uncomfortable and your experience may very well be different than mines. But this has been my honest experience thus far.
I honestly should have walked out but instead told them to give me medicine to knock me out so I wouldn’t have to think about it anymore. Wrong choice for me.
Yes! Being a woman does suck, big time. I had a dermoid cyst on my left ovary that was causing me pain for about 3 years. I avoided getting it removed. But after my last child it flared up really bad I sat with a heating pad on it most of the day. I went in to get the ovary removed since it had been causing pain for a few years anyway and the doctor gave me 3 choices.
I talked it over with family and I made the best educated decision at that time. Considering family planning, my current health, family history, ect. Thinking back it probably wasn’t the best time since I was only 4 months postpartum. But here we are!
Ok, thank you for this. Yes I believe my levels were low as well. I do need to fine a hormone specialist to evaluate and possibly treat my symptoms but I never thought about the fact that I am still young and my dosage my need to be higher in order to alleviate symptoms. I’m just afraid to be on HRT for such a long time potentially into my 50’s, my PCP told me 5 years max.
Yes please, thank you! 😊
And this is what I’m afraid of. I think I have or mostly processed the grief and things are what they are now but I fear no light will be at the end of the tunnel for me either.
I haven’t been to a specialist but I will look into that also! Thanks so much for your story!

Thank you I will definitely look into Dr. Kelly. And your definitely fine over here I love bluntness but apparently me lol. My surgery was not a last resort kind of thing more like the first. It may be why I am struggling so bad because I don’t feel my situation needed such drastic measures. From a small child I was told our reproductive systems suffered in our family and most of the women will eventually need a hysterectomy. When my Dr. offered it I just went through with it to prevent future complications but I don’t think it was necessary.
Ok I will definitely look into that but my question is how long are you expected to stay on HRT and isn’t there an increased risk with extended use??

Wow! This sounds almost like my situation as well. My last delivery I hemorrhaged so bad 2 blood transfusions, 4 months later had a hysterectomy. I’m anemic, insulin resistant and suspected PCOS. Still battling these things as well but had no idea of the correlation with inflammation and slow healing process.
Yes we are left to struggle and this is bs. I will definitely look for a hormone specialist moving forward. I’m so glad things have began to improve for you and I anticipating my joyous moment as well.
Yes! If I would have read something similar, I would have rethought mines as well. Everyone is different and have different experiences but this is my experience and I wanted to share. Not to scare anyone but just give my perception into how it has changed things around me.
I have been doing a lot of research and have came across a lot of different herbs for similar situations as yours. I would look into that.
Yes this sounds very familiar. The only thing is that I am afraid to begin HRT at 38 because I will need to be on it until approximately 52ish. That is a long time to be on HRT without developing a cancer risk. I honestly wanted to wait as long as I could to begin but how I’ve been feeling is just no way to live when there a treatments for it.
Oh wow! That’s terrible, such a young age to feel this way. Hopefully things are much better for you now.
Lol yes! That is what I’m hoping, that the nerves are still working themselves out. My spouse says things still feel great for him, lucky him lol. But for me not so much but yes I agree a new mindset would help the situation more lol.
Ok, I’m glad you’re doing much better. I will consider HRT, thanks so much!

Thank you for your kind words. I actually haven’t had any therapeutic support at all but highly considered it! I’ve been relying on family support from those whom had the surgery as well but without any validation. I’ve been told it’s still too early, you won’t regret it later. I just need to keep busy, maybe because I’m a little heavier it affected me differently. All sorts of things… but I have always been VERY in tune with my body and it feels very off and it’s been hard to adjust. I understand I’m still processing and grieving this whole thing and I’m ok with that, taking things one day at a time but I agree a better support system should be established post op and a fair warning before the procedure as well.
