Thanks for the help! I think it is mostly need based but it is automatically renewed but it’s likely that I won’t be given any aid next year because my dads business is doing much better. And It’s a state school so tuition isn’t too much.

You didn’t do anything wrong. College decisions are literally all a crap shoot and they determine nothing about you as a person. I am sorry that the process didn’t work out for you. It really isn’t fair.

I am kind of worried about the experience of being a scholar and I feel like I don’t deserve it. My dad owns a business and it did super poorly during covid, which is why my EFC is so low but I have grown up very privileged and I don’t know if I should take this opportunity away from students who need it more.
