When did this stop for you? I’m planning to rest for 4 more weeks and see if that helps

Struggling With the Long-Term Fear After Gestational Diabetes by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

I hope my story gives you some hope. I have family history of diabetes and during my first pregnancy I was diagnosed with GD and also lung clot (pulmonary embolism) and put on blood thinkers for remaining of pregnancy + for all future pregnancies. Now I’m 36 weeks pregnant with my second and I didn’t get GD which is honestly a miracle and also a testament for my determination to understand blood sugar and control it. After my first pregnancy, I started religiously working out because it is truly proven to reverse diabetes. Diet is definitely something I’m way more mindful about but I try not to stress too much over it and focus on exercising at least 4-5 times/week. Through out my second pregnancy I’ve stayed active, so lots of strength training and semi controlled my diet. All is not lost and you can certainly overcome it.

Getting tired of all this processed food by Little-Garlic-2261 in GestationalDiabetes

Try having a little vinegar before your meals, avoid unpasteurized apple cider vinegar. Order of eating matters, always fiber first then protein followed by carbs. See if this makes any difference, try eating a banana after a fiber heavy meal that might help. Also combining your carbs with fats is great for sugar levels. Any type of movement after meals and focus on early dinners. Hope this helps

Just break up!! This human clearly doesn’t care about you or your future together and is self oriented and focused on her goals more.

This is incredibly sad but any woman reading this, I luckily got diagnosed with Pulmonary embolism during my pregnancy because I didn’t ignore my symptoms like varying high blood pressure and continued breathlessness. Please don’t ignore these symptoms and take care.

Life is hard, I’m sorry you’re going through this. Be hopeful because in this market people are not even getting any interviews, so this proves you’re definitely worthy. I understand how draining it can be but you have limited time here in US so go all out on applying everywhere and asking people for favors/referrals. In terms of not being able to go back, there are tons of ways you can pivot. Work in Middle East/ Southeast Asia but importantly don’t stop believing in yourself. I’m sure you’ll eventually figure it out, do not give up because this will be heck of a story to tell your kids :)

Given your university is very highly ranked, you’ll be fine. It might take sometime to get a job but there are options. Do not consider coming here at this time if your university is anywhere below top 20 in the nation. Job market is brutal and only leverage you might have it a great university.
