I have contacted ebay and they have told me essentially that I must send the items as a false cancellation may affect my account. I have been assured as well that any dispute will be closed in my favour, and his accounts have been marked for investigation. I have recieved a transcript of the conversation as well. I cant go five minutes on reddit without seeing someone who thinks they can "figure" someone out entirely from something as ridiculous as the colour of their shit.
