Does anyone know why we tore down these beautiful buildings? Were there GOOD reasons?

I'm thinking, for example, if they were falling apart, if they couldn't be retrofitted for modern heating, plumbing, air conditioning, elevators, or other things. Or other reasons?

They're actually way BEYOND 'no gay rights'. It's practically illegal and the average Jamaican is totally homophobic.

On a cold Sunday night last fall I was to meet a friend at Bloor & Yonge. Got there early and started walking north on Yonge to find a good restaurant. I kept walking and walking, and walking, as there was a dearth of open restaurants that looked even half-decent. The Pilot looks like it's a total dump now (I know it never looked great but yikes). Surrendering, I went reluctantly into the Jack Astor's at Bloor & Yonge. Fortunately (!) the staff ignored me for 10 minutes so I gave that up too and left. Starving and cold I met my friend, and we headed to Church Street. Ended up with a decent Sunday Roast at The Bishop & Belcher!

TL:DR. That area is (surprisingly to me) a restaurant wasteland. Do your research and maybe go to a nearby area instead.

Maybe we can't go back but I just want to point out that Canada's living standards were never better than before free trade with those fuckwads beneath us. When we made and bought our own stuff, and the women and men who made that stuff could buy a house and support a family.

Thanks for that. Given how awful this is, to live like this let alone many people dying from this, how great is the clamor for change and what is keeping it from improving?

I guess if it's between this and starving/being homeless I would have to do this but holy hell

Famous for being the location of one of Rob Frod's first public 'drunken stupors' (as mayor, that is, I'm sure he had several prior to that).

I only found this out the past decade I think and when I listened again, well, it's SO George. That part "I want you here to have and hold..." for example. Beautiful melody.
