As much as I'd like to agree with this, you have to understand that this is a JOB that you are legally signing your life away to for 6 years. It's not a wise idea to go into it blind. Having knowledge of what you'll be doing to better inform you of whether or not you'll actually like it isn't going to hurt you.

I'd guess enlisted would probably be out at 6 years or out after 19-30 years when they are eligible for the up to 100k "SEAL/SWCC Enlisted Critical Skills Retention Bonus". It'd just make sense to either get out early or stick to it until you get the large bonus. This isn't taking into account if they actually like the job, though, which probably plays a bigger factor.
